Thanks girls for joining in!

We are 5 hrs ahead of NY.
We are 1 hour behind some European countries but anyway whatever time it would be good!
I am going out now, its 7pm. I will go into town to watch the lights go out across the city.

Thankyou Lola, Melanie and Rebecca for your interest and support.

I went to Piccadilly Circus to watch the switch off but really to be truthful it was rather underwheming! There was a big crowd and we all cheered when they switched off but that was it really....nothing much else to do after!!!! So we went home and observed who took part and who didn't.

It wasn't dark at 9pm so the pics are not so dramatic but anyway, the thoughts were there! and me!
Before-

After:

Shame on GAP and Boots for not switching off!

The Hampshire Restaurant, enjoying a candle lit evening:

Thanks for the pics Karen!  I guess it would have made more of an impact if it was dark outside and everyone had lit candles.  But the thought was definately there.  We turned the TV and computor off about
9:10 as well as the lights and used the time chatting and vegging out!
Nearly fell asleep!

Glad to hear you took part. Its not really that hard to do eh? Just 1 hr a day apparantly makes a huge difference (I can't remember the exact figures). I guess if we all started doing that it would help though.
It certainly made me realise how much I had switched on for no reason in the house.
Actually I haven't needed to switch a few of the things back on yet.....3 days later....

We will do this again anytime!  Especially in the summer at night we can sit outside, light alot of candles and just relax.  Sometimes the TV takes over in my house (very bad)!
