I wish to thank the RH Mr. Wright for his submission of this Updated Text of the Parliamentary Procedure Resoultion.
So, I think we should allow 3 days for those who have objections or concerns over any part of this bill to let them know and then commence voting? Any objections to this or should we wait a little longer? _________________ Mr. Dervin, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Devonia |

I Would like to question the legality of this Resolution.
The resolution states
| Quote: |
(3) The Prime Minister and shall be elected by a system of direct ballot, by simple majority rule. Each Member of Parliament may place one vote for the Member they wish to be elected. Candidates may vote for themselves.
(4) Once either a period of three days has passed, or all eligible Members, who have sworn the Oath, have voted, the King shall appoint the candidate with the most votes to the position of Prime Minister.
7.
(1) Once the election is complete, the new Prime Minister shall nominate a Member to the position of Deputy Prime Minister. The Deputy may or may not be a member of the Prime Minister’s own party.
(2) The Prime Minister shall then call for other nominations to the seat of Deputy Prime Minister. The sitting Members of Parliament shall then elect the Deputy Prime Minister by Majority vote. |
But under the Constitution Both the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister must be elected by direct ballot.
| Quote: |
Article 38
(1) A Newly elected Parliament shall sit within a week after the day of election, unless the King has previously convoked a meeting of Members.
(2) Immediately after the proving of the mandates Parliament shall constitute itself by the election of a Prime Minister and a Deputy Prime Minister. |

Your Majesty,
I do not see the conflict as both the resolution and the Constitution call for the election by direct ballot.
Please explain further.

Your Majesty,
As Section 7 of the Resoultion states:
| Quote: |
(1) Once the election is complete, the new Prime Minister shall nominate a Member to the position of Deputy Prime Minister. The Deputy may or may not be a member of the Prime Minister’s own party.
(2) The Prime Minister shall then call for other nominations to the seat of Deputy Prime Minister. The sitting Members of Parliament shall then elect the Deputy Prime Minister by Majority vote.
|
This Nomination is made by the Prime Minister for a citizen to stand as candidate for the Election of Deputy Prime Minister by a Vote of the Parliament. As nomination by the Prime Minister does not mean that that person is appointed Deputy PM, but is more measure or hint to the Parliament by the PM, that this is the person he will most like to work with as his deputy and will get the most work done with. _________________ Mr. Dervin, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Devonia |

Your Majesty,
There was always a nomination process - the election is still by direct vote.
The difference now is that the Prime Minister is asked to make the first nomination for Deputy Prime Minister. Then others are asked for their nomination.
There is no promise that a person nominated by the Prime Minister will be elected.
