i was asked if this lion was hunted down and killed so i must update this post we (at least that i know of here in arizona) do not hunt such wild and beautiful animals we leave them alone to live their lives in peace and they pretty much leave us alone too. this then was the exception - my guess is that the lion was following the scent perhaps of an animal it was hunting down for a meal and came to close to humans - upon crossing the highway got hit and sadly was killed
