Due to me not really doing much for performance mods, I'd like to make the best of things...
Plan, retain OEM Air box, use a K&N Drop in air filter, replace rubber tube from air box to TB with a high polished aluminum smooth pipe. The airbox retains torque, and the aluminum tube smoothes airflow.
Thoughts?
Other "power" mod will be be a rear section muffler...either an RS*R GTII or a more common FM NA Exhuast...I like the RS*R, but I could easily mimic the system for far less than $495. I might add a RB header way down the road, but I'm not really looking for speed, just little improvements...

Good idea for the intake. I would definitely look for a header to complete the setup.

Dunno about the header...I wanted to stay as stock as possible. I've had bad luck with engines, last 4 cars needed engines due to my toying around. Of course, 2/4 were N/A cars the went FI, one was an FI car that went too much boost/ not enough retard, and one lost oil due to a crushed oil pan...
Stock = Good.

I'd go for it on the Racingbeat header..... I loved mine!
I can't possibly see how the header could hurt the car
as for the exhaust and intake mods... sounds good to me.... but might I suggest the Borla rear section Paired with FM's 2 1/4 midpipe????? That combo also worked out great for me. Sounded great, made slight power gains (butt dyno) and was simple to install.

WOOHOO! Got my K&N Drop in filter today from www.flyinmiata.com!
Now, I need some a) 90* Couplers, or b) 90* pipes cut (I have the pipes, but dont feel like cutting).
Who wants to be the minion that'll cut my pipes for me!?
