This  has been one way of knowing that Lovie and his staff DO NOT know how to evaluate talent   .....  It's seen by the the players they field ,..  The players  that give the Bears the best chances of winning  ...

What purpose does it serve  for any of us  get ALL hyped up about who the Bears can draft when the coaching staff  is way too gun shy to play the kids ????

Or is it another issue  of NOT giving the newwer players playing time  so they don't have to pay them as much ????

They should play the kids.  A couple of weeks ago when Orton was hobbling around like Grandpa McCoy, Hanie should have been put in the game.

What's the point of having a draft if you're not willing to attempt to reap the rewards?

It makes no sense whatsoever to bench, IR or mothball highly drafted players. Stick 'em in and let them learn the hard, and still the best, way.

Last year it was Bazuin, Okwo and Beekman who rode the pine for the duration, with Olsen and Wolfe struggling to get enough time on the turf. I'm sure Olsen and Beekman's contributions and consistency would be much greater this year if Ron hadn't overlooked them as much as he did.

Look what it did for Bazuin and Okwo (2nd and 3rd rounders for crying out loud... it's not as if Jerry burned late picks on them!!!), I've got that all too familiar feeling about Bennett this year and I hate it.

Kick Ron up the arse, stick Bennett in for Davis or Booker and give the Neckbeard something fresh and quick to aim at. Bennett will be much the better player for the rookie experience.

Jerry needs to sort this mess out. We're not making much of an impact in the FA market so drafting clever and making the most of each pick is the only way for us to rebound asap.

The Bennett issue was discussed at length yesterday by Tom Waddle here on ESPN 1000 radio. The injury to Booker should force Turner to play the rook. He was injured earlier this Fall for a few weeks, that didn't help. I met Bennett at the Expo back in June, the kid has almost no body fat. He looked ready to play a month prior to TC. Any 3rd round pick is a high enough pick to have an immediate(at least it should be)impact. Considering that Ron was probably the one that pushed drafting a WR when we needed another OL, he needs to play him.
