boy what a race 
2-3 wide race most of the time. The field got separated though in the last few laps when slower cars got in the way. David Carter II and Jon Flourney broke out ahead with nearly a four second lead. On the backstretch of the last lap, the lapped car of Carl Benzoite got in the way. Jon up high, and David right below had to avoid him. Jon, who thought he was clear, came down slightly tapping the front of Davids car. Jon went spinning down the backstretch. David Carter II went on to win the Daytona 500!

Tensions boil over after last lap of the Daytona 500
On the last lap of the Daytona 500 the #99 while trying to get out of the leaders way dives to the bottom of the track leaving no room up high, the #87 and #79 made contact sending the #87 spinning to the infield with 1/2 to go, the #79 of David Carter II went on to win the race but on pit road things did not go over so well with the pit crews of the #87 and #79, as a fist fight broke out. Penalty's are expected to come on Wednesday. |
