You understand what i mean when i say drivers with about the same skill level as Stremme and Yeley. you know, just people on this level...
here i'll make a list.
J.J Yeley
David Stremme
Regan Smith
Michael McDowell
Reed Sorenson
Possibly Aric Almirola, Paul Menard and David Reutimann as well
they were talking somewhere about young/new drivers having career's cut short because of the jump to cup. my solution is simple: Everyone follow David Stremme's example.
If you are no longer wanted in cup (Yeley right now), don't waste time going somewhere like.. Furniture row just to stay in cup. get out and go back to busch and rebuild. its so simple. Stremme did this exact thing, and now he's being rumored to PENSKE. not to mention we all think so great of him, like he never shoulda been cut from ganassi, and that he deserves a cup ride.. etc. a year in busch did wonders. now he must have more fans more support more confidence.
Now that i think about it, Stremme isnt even the first one to do this, Scott Wimmer was, and now look how good we think he is. he runs well in busch and we all respect him, unlike is debut season like 3 years ago or his time at BDR.
so guys who right now are being rumored out of rides (Smith, Sorenson, and McDowell), if they do get canned they need to go right down to busch. and then everyone will love them again and they'll come back to cup and be better than ever. Yeley needs to do this now. someone send him a note. if i were him i'd ask Joe Gibbs for a full time ride in busch next season. good equipment and any cup driver will do fine in a good busch car. Gibbs gets yeley back, yeley gets gibbs back, but just not in cup. and then who knows, yeley might end up being the expansion to a 4th team in the future.
kind of also the same thing with Casey Mears, i'm a hendrick fan, and i'm not seeing him do THAT well in cup, so me being a hendrick fan and liking all the hms drivers, i want him to stay, but i also want to welcome mark martin. i wish rick would put casey in busch next year full time for a championship and all that.
but you just make so much more money finishing last in cup than you do winning in busch like omg... :l "i just got canned i'm not going down a level i'm staying in cup for the money and i'll sign with a lower-end team and do even worse cuz i wont go back down to busch where i truely belong atm.." |
