Daytona, FL - Race 1 has gone underway in sunny Florida today with the first ever Daytona 70 Presented by Coca-Cola! We had many fans come to see what these guys can show us! We had 31 drivers come out and take their cars for practice and qualifying for the Daytona 70! Bobby Santos was strong in the practice session running a time of 48.503 in his Unsponsored #36 Toyota fielded by Bill Davis Racing! The top-5 goes as 36 Santos, 25 Phillip, 49 Andretti, 81 Parks, and 80 Logano. Qualifying took place today also with Helms in the #18 Johnson Designs Thunder. Here are the results of both sessions from today!

Now just in:
Daytona, FL - AT&T Cup officials have checked all 31 cars to see if there are any rule breakers and problems with the cars. They have told us that the #s 18 and 70 cars were suspicious of being too low. They let both of the cars roll through again and they both passed the test!
Daytona FL - AT&T Cup President in racing Nick Baker said that there will be a special event for the top 12 finishers of the Daytona 70 and that they will compete in a shootout at Daytona. AT&T Cup Officials will not allow cameras so the race will not be televised, but digital cameras that take pictures only will be allowed!

Daytona Fl - Race one coverage will start at 3:00 PM Eastern with 70 laps of intense racing at our first ever trip to Daytona! Helms, who starts in spot #1, says he's ready to win this race for team owner Nasfan! John Andretti is expected to be one of those drivers that will try and compete for the win! Tune in after the race to see the results!
