i found a stand alone render program it works pretty good just need to figure out the lighting stuff its called Kerkythea Rendering System it will open 3ds files(not max that i know ofstill investigating it) including the ss.net cot that is at http://teamom3ga.com/index/index.php and the best part is it is FREE!

I tried it and the 3d models work, but I just have to figure out how to get the templates on them and get them rendered and where the renders go

yes the file is under aplications there is a render tutorial on the site as well i have not downloaded it yet but here is a render i did with it it is the ss.net cot (added the second car my self)
