Hey anyone who happens to see this --
It's Saturday night for me, and I tried logging in to the Nexus and couldn't. But it's a time-consuming process to unlock this entire board (I have to do each folder one by one, with multiple clicks), so this is the only folder open for now.
Usually Sundays are nuts for me, but I'll try really hard to check on the Nexus tomorrow (May 31). If needed I'll open everything here, but hopefully the Nexus will be back up before that's necessary.
No matter what, I'll be around on Monday (June 1), hopefully to reset things here and log in to the real Nexus. See you all around!

5 - 31 -- as you can see I came and reopened everything -- it's very early morning for me and since Sundays are super-busy I don't know that I'll have time to check back before tomorrow. Feel free to log in (or register) and post anywhere you like.
I'll contact Lisa tomorrow if the site is still down tomorrow morning...hopefully that won't be necessary. Fingers crossed everybody.
Oh - also - just occurred to me - I don't know exactly how flickr works, if people can have discussions there, but the new flickr group Emma set up could be another meeting place until the Nexus is fixed. Heard from Lisa, who said the site worked for her on Friday night. She didn't say anything about the rest of the weekend though. I told her I couldn't get either the main site or the forum since Saturday afternoon.
But I just checked again and now the MixSig page is up and I can get to the index page of the Nexus....I just can't log IN to the Nexus (the SQL error thing comes up).
So I told her all that...hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
(...Am I the only one who can't get the nexus to come up? I'm starting to think I am.   ) |

OK, I'll reply so it doesn't look like you're talking to yourself...
It looks like it is a different SQL error this time, and the MySQL server isn't even responding on the port used for communication. I'm not sure how this hosting provider remains in business with the ongoing and regular outages they seem to experience. I know Lisa probably doesn't have the time to think about trying to move the site elsewhere right now, and I know that cost is a substantial factor, but having to address these regular outages has to be extremely frustrating for her, too. |

lol, I never mind talking to myself, you didn't have to reply just for that... (Actually most of the reason I quipped about me being the only one was because it's happened before, that I was the only one who couldn't log on. )
It is frustrating for her, incredibly so. We've had many phone conversations about it. (Thank you for your empathy about it too  ) And every time something goes wrong with MixSig or the Nexus, something goes majorly (I mean majorly) wrong in her life. It's been that way for years. The poor girl can't seem to catch a break.
Thanks also for the info that it's a different kind of error this time. I'll pass that along when I speak to her later today.
Updates when I have them, everybody!  |
