I can do it. I can get syn icons to show in our profiles. It'll be time intensive for me (I'll have to make all the different permutations of syntype combinations as separate graphics, and also that many different usergroups...*dizzy*) and it won't work the way our old Modalities worked, but I can do it.

You can see some of it in the "Testing" thread, but here's a screenshot from there:

I don't know why the icons I strung together are fuzzy and the single one is clearer...I'll try to fix that too but for the moment I'm just happy I can get the icons up for us. I'll also look in to getting them on the Emoticons board, later.

I have a busy weekend coming up so I won't be around here much for the next few days, but I'll be back regularly again starting Monday. I'm hoping sometime next week or the week after to be able to get syn icons up in everybody's profiles!

Ahah, I see how you're doing it. Using normal groups and applying a single image of the icons to each one.

In relation to the blurriness, it's a different height for a start. 17px, as opposed to just 16 on the single icon. It looks to be stretched lengthways, as well. I'm fairly certain that's causing the blur, in case you've yet to realise ^^

You'd be able to save a lot of time if you were able to edit the forum PHP code directly, but I doubt you'll be able to with free forums. There may be a shortcut by modifying the template, too (You almost definitely will be able to do the latter)

Anyway.. I don't want to sound as if I'm impatiently waiting for you to finish, that would just be rude worried/unsure  So good luck with it, and don't worry if it turns out to be more work than you expected wink

Wow, Kela - The samples look great. Don't stress yourself out over this, though!

Aww thanks guys!  heart Don't worry, it's not really a stress thing, it's more of a sit-down-and-do-it thing when I have a big enough chunk of time. Lots of copying and pasting. At least this forum system lets me name multiple groups the exact same name...we'll need a gazillion groups called 'synesthete' (actually that just gave me an idea...I need to go make a new thread after I post this) and two different Moderatrix groups and a new admin group for me, and I'll have to set each user manually. Doable, just loooooooong.

Crehl, the top one is 16 px. The middle one is 17 (compare where the icon borders fall under the 'e' in 'Offline' on those two to see the 1px difference, and where they fall under the 'e' in 'User' on the top and bottom ones to see the px sameness), but the top one is 16 and still fuzzy. And there's no lengthwise stretch. I kept everything square.

And I understand you were trying to help, but I wasn't looking for ideas or advice.  smile  I know that all you guys here want to help if you can (I heart the Nexus!!), and believe me I'll ask for help when I need it. But for now I'm not looking for that. Patience and feedback (everybody go answer the questions in the 'Bugs and suggestions' thread in the give us your thoughts folder if you haven't already please!) is what I need from members most at the moment. Thanks!

Edit - the new thread I had to go make is here. And yes that's a link even though it doesn't look like it for some reason.

Ahh, I saw the middle and top images, and presumed they were the same. Sorry, I guess I was a little too eager to help worried/unsure I can get carried away like that sometimes, not really something I can help, I'm afraid  wink
