This is the feedback thread. I need to know how things look for you, how they work for you. Also suggestions you might have -- I don't know how much this system will let me do, but I'll try my best. I know there are probably forums/descriptions I forgot (I haven't been able to see anything past the 'general syn fora' and 'specific synesthesiae' sections since the original site broke), but I'll have Emma help me with those. And I'll work on getting syn-specific sidebar (probably topbar) info set up too.
Also, a few features we do/don't have:
- there IS a 'posts since your last visit' feature, but it's way at the bottom of the home page and it's 'view new posts'.
- no avatar gallery at the moment. I'm looking around, seeing if I can find an option for one. You can upload an av, though. Again, same as at the original Nexus -- no animated avatars, please.
- Quick Reply box. You should see it at the bottom left after the last post of the thread. Very handy.
- different smilies. I'm seeing if there are any others I can install or add, but at least we have emoticons!
- no syn icons though.  I have to see if there's a way to upload those or not. I doubt it, but I'm going to try. [Edit - got it! A roundabout way but I got it!]
So try to bear with me as I fiddle with this. And tell me how the site looks physically to you. Can you see the original Nexus logo at the top left of the forum? On the home page, are the bars that say 'forum' green, the 'topic' and 'posts' and 'last post' bars blue, and the forum name bars underneath, gray? I had other colors besides the blue and the gray, but for some reason they don't seem to save, and I need to know whether it's just my machine or if it's really not saving. Thanks guys.

Wow, Kela! - the new nexus looks amazing!
Yes, the nexus logo is there for me, and the 'forum' bit is green, those other parts are blue, and the rest is grey. |

I've been fiddling with that, and if I can find a way to make it so anybody can join/unjoin without needing a mod to approve it, I'll totally do that. |

Is there any way to un-default the "Notify me when a reply is posted" at the bottom of the reply page? I don't really need to be notified and I keep forgetting to un-check it. |

Go into your profile (link at the top of the forum). Partway down it says "Always notify me of replies," and you can change it to 'no'. That ought to do it.  |

 You're right! It's back! I was there about 1.5 hours before you were and the headers were still there, but now they're gone. I majorly feel like posting this in two foot tall neon letters... |

Thank you so much for posting that, euterpe! I haven't been back to the original site since I finished getting graphics for here, and I wouldn't have checked back in there for a few more days if you hadn't posted that. You're right, the header errors are gone, and I actually logged in! (473 posts since my last visit!  )
Lisa PMed me, we exchanged phone numbers, and hopefully we'll talk today. I have missed the nexus so much, and I can't wait to get the real deal back up and running again. She said she needs to transfer everything over to the new system, so it might be another little while until everything's officially set to go, but it looks like we'll be able to head back "home" here pretty soon. I'm going to make some kind of announcement here in just a second. Thanks again, euterpe! |
