We talked about this some on the original site, I know. Another syn-type reference showed up in a kids' show I had on this morning (Peep and the Big Wide World): the three little birds were watching the sun set over the water, and the duck character, Quack, was being loud. The little cardinal, Chirp, got exasperated and said, "Shh! We're trying to hear the sunset!" She meant that they were waiting to hear the sun touch the water -- it's a science-oriented show that has the characters learning scientific principles by testing assumptions and by trial and error -- but it just struck me as a total syn-like thing to say. You know? "Will you all be quiet! I'm trying to hear this painting!"
