Some of you may have seen an alarming disappearance of this forum earlier today. There've also been a few smaller stretches of down time in the last week. I just wanted to let everybody know that the admins here (FreePowerBoards staff, that is) are aware of and on top of everything. I found this post a moment ago in the admin support forum:

Apparently the server that has been giving us troubles all this week (1-2 random reboots a day resulting in a 10 minute downtime each time) blew up today (not literally) and I checked in to find that particular server unresponsive and several hundred email/IM complaints (and threats) due to this downtime.
We are still looking into this matter to see what went wrong and how we can prevent it. This shouldn't be happening since we just upgraded the drive on that server.
Please note that if there is ever a problem where you can't access any forums, we know about it and are already working to correct the issue. As I explained to a few hostile members today, we are a business, and we avoid downtime at all costs.
As another reassurance, I have a hard-copy list of all members' email addresses (which I'll update regularly, and which I will never share with anyone else, ever, and which I keep locked up in my very secure safe in my office -- you know how I am about Internet safety, well I'm that way about personal-info-privacy in general) so that if something unthinkable does happen, I can still contact all of you. And you all have my email from your membership activation -- but be advised I don't check my email that often. PMing me or posting here is a better way to contact me.
So the bottom line is, it's all good.

Apparently the server was getting crammed with domlogs and the drive it was on couldn't keep up. Domlogs are now taken care of and put on a faster drive.
I'm confident this will correct the recent issues and if not we will be quick to try new options.
