On our profiles under the communication section it says "Karma: 0". What does that mean?

There's a "karma" function these boards offer -- if it's enabled, you can give "karma points" to people through their posts. I've also seen them called reputation points (or rep points) on another forum I visit a lot, and I'm going to explain how those work there, since karma points would be pretty much the same thing here.

There's a little symbol on each post that you can click if you want to give someone a rep point. You can choose if it's positive or negative, and leave a comment for them or leave it blank. The points total up, and the user can see the comments in their user CP (control panel).

On the one hand they're fun, because it allows you to leave a private comment for somebody without a PM (and they can respond in kind), and it can be a mood lifter. On the other hand, the points correspond to levels that are very much like the ranks we used to have on the original Nexus...and I'm not sure I want to re-introduce a level- or point-based system.

So that's all that is. Thanks for asking. smile
