Are you the proud owner of an eBay store wondering where to start letting potential buyers know you are around? For starters you can check out these marketing tips for eBay stores listed below. You may be familiar with some of them or you may recall hearing something about them in the past, but if you don't use them and utilize them to the fullest, they will not do you much good.
Here is a list of tried and true marketing tips for eBay sites:

Post in forums. Go to eBay forums by typing "eBay + forums" in Google. You'll find all kinds of places for posting thoughts and ideas. If you sell purses, type in "purses + forums". I kid you not, there really is a purse forum! Don't spam and be sure to use a signature that includes your eBay URL.

Write articles about your merchandise. Whether you sell collectibles, sports items, or furniture, there is always an interesting angle people would like to read about. Get some free publicity by using this method. Post to these article sites and again be sure to use your URL in the signature.

The big news right now is social networking. Set up a space in My Space , or build a lens in Squidoo . Both of these ideas will help to drive traffic to your site. If you aren't familiar with how to do this, don't worry, the directions are very easy to follow. If you find you can't figure it out, just ask your kids!

Another tactic in use today is the use of StumbleUpon. There is a simple download that adds the StumbleUpon button to the Internet toolbar. Once installed, visit your ebay pages and vote thumbs up for your page. This is like a round robin. When someone else hits a StumbleUpon button, they are sometimes brought to your page and they can vote for it. You can vote for every page you have up on the web with this method.

Spend time contacting your customers. Successful sellers depend on repeat business. Don't hesitate to call or send an email to customers once they have received their merchandise. They will be flattered that you thought enough about them to follow up. You and I both know good customer service is a thing of the past. This is an area where you can outshine the competition and make an impression on your customers

Start an email list. Put a form on your site and have your visitors sign up for an email list. Give away a bonus download as a freebie for signing up.
Always remember, most people are not going to do something on their own. No matter what type of marketing you do, always include a call to action. Examples are; Sign up for my email and receive a free gift, or Visit my site now and bid on the latest, greatest widget you find listed there. Always include a call to action in all your signatures, articles, or social networking sites.
