My integra was stolen a month ago and it was recovered the next day but the thieves took my stereo unit. They ripped it out and left my stock wire harness.

My question is, I just bought a new deck and I went and hooked it up the right way, but I'm not getting any power to the deck?

I checked my fuse for the Radio and it's good.

I just bought a Digital Multimeter but I don't know how to use it. Any help on how to use the meter and what leads to check and what dials to turn it to?

ok first off did they rip your wires apart or did they unplug or just seperate your connections,

also  one wire is a key controlled ignition wire and the other is a constant hot wire

what you want to do is locate the constant power wire (usually solid red) test it for voltage with your meter set to volts and see if it is supplying any power let me know how this goes.

if power is present locate your yellow wire this is key controlled turn the key on to acc and redo your test with your meter. let me know how these tests go.

They ripped the deck out so my stock harness is cut.

I went and tried to hook up a new deck I bought and I'm not getting any power. I'm going to test it by what you told me and update you guys with the reading.

If its cut, the circuit is broken from your battery....meaning no power...or lack of something else....obviously try to find the break and just wire it back together with good wiring....then do exactly what 90integ said.

That was fun last night bro...see ya around 90integ..

but anyways i'm going to check it out see some friends and kick it and have fun.
