Post subject: Hi, it's Alissa...
I'm mom to Rain (Primary 3), Rowan (Primary 1), and River (Pre-Primary) Bell. This is our second year at OPM, and we love it!
This year, I'll be doing Community Problem Solving with the Upper Elementary kids for an hour a week. I've coached Future Problem Solving for many years, and I evaluate for that program both at the state and international levels. Community Problem Solving will be a new experience for me as well as the kids. It should be tons of fun.
I'm also a bit of a whale fanatic. I spent 2 weeks in August 2007 in Queensland, Australia on a research internship with the Pacific Whale Foundation. We were collecting data on humpback whales and their use of Hervey Bay. It was one of the top 5 most exciting experiences of my life. Truly amazing!
I am the coordinator for OPM's
Box Tops for Education
program. If you haven't started clipping and collecting your General Mills Box Tops for Education labels, you should now. You can send box tops with your child to school or take them to the office yourself. There are collection boxes in each classroom and the office. Contact me if you have any questions.
That's all for now. I hope to meet some of you soon, especially new parents.
Alissa
