Man, Talk about scared, I guess you could call it a "belated" scared, but I was touring in Europe while stationed there, after the Iron Curtain fell and went to one of the former Soviet areas and was talking to a Russian Missileer and he introduced me to the missile that was pointed at me while I was at FE Warren AFB, Wyoming. Well, I'll go ahead an add my own personal `scared'. It was back in 1970 and I was working graveyard for the Austin Police Department. At a little after 3am, A car drove by that just didn't seem right (police 6th sense). The car was stopped by me and my partner .. at one point a rifle was pointed at me and the trigger pulled. The rifle misfired 8-10 feet from my back. I heard the click.. and that sound scared the hell out of me.. And today I own that bullet with it's indented casing.. The guy went to jail for jumping bond($50,000), theft, and being in possition of more than one altered `photo ID' (about 30 of them - all different names/same photo). Years later.. this same guy went to prison (death penalty) for killing an Austin Policeman. I testified in one of his appeal trials and am waiting to testify again in his upcoming in the future.
