Oh dear lord please tell me this is not true!! If it is true then every red blooded American needs to stand up and scream NO we won't let this happen a min longer!
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - Troops in Iraq may be getting cheated out of their lunches. NEWSCHANNEL 5 has learned some soldiers are working nine to twelve hour shifts in the heat without any food.

Boxed lunches go bad!? Well no sh** that's why you refrigerate them prior to taking them to the field.
They take too much from the mess when they do eat!? What a load of buffalo chips! We are paying for illegal immigrants to live here and make babies but we cant give an American Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine an extra sandwich!!!???
And the Army won't pay for any more!!!??? You CANT and Wont feed my troops, then as the Governor of Oklahoma I am pulling my troops the hell out of Iraq, it's that simple... This is a load of crap, how can the US Government... I gotta stop before I start cussin on here.

I don't want to add to the bad vibes but..... This is true in many cases. Many are working up to twelve hours with no food beyond the breakfast they eat prior to duty and the dinner they get after duty if they don't go straight to bed. The biggest problem is when you have the guys running convoys and patrols getting nothing, while all of the people that work on Base get to go to the chow hall for lunch. Even at that it's not much. It used to be you could go to the chow hall and get all the food you need, eat until you're full. Now, the amounts of food are restricted. You can only get one main food item, and no more seconds. You eat what you're permitted and get out. _________________ <table border=0 cellpadding=1 cellspacing=1 height=50 width=400 align=left><tr><td colspan=1 align=center valign=middle>[img]

Oh my Smitty I am so sorry. I had hoped to come back on and see that maybe someone found out that this was wrong! (good to see you!!) Trust me I will send emails, phone calls, and everything else I can think of to get this out. We will not stand for this at all back at home..Again thank you for sharing this with us!!!
Afsp I will do my part too. Go to other states etc. We WILL get this out... We will not let this get by this group here. Together we can change what is wrong there even if it is just the food they get...Also if you do get to see the movie let me know they have pulled it from here, so I will have to wait until it comes back or for the DVD! _________________

This angered me so much when I read it last night I could not
respond to it and keep my Christian faith. There is just no
excuse for our troops to be treated this way, none at all. As for
the food getting hot in the field and going bad. Wake up government.
They make insulated lunch boxes that keeps food cold or hot. Supply
our troops with them, how much room can they take up for goodness sake. Smitty I too am so sorry you guys are having to put up with such crap while you are out there putting your lives on the line for us here back home. Be assured we will be writing our congressman, I for one am going to also write Bush. This is just not accepteable, not at all. _________________

I used to ask God if He would come and help me. Then I asked if I could come and help Him.
Finally I ended by asking God to do His own work through me. |

This is a great response y'all. Some of the recent revelations to come out of the military, the lack of food and the 82nd ABN Barracks is a horrible way to treat our men & women who WILLINGLY, with no draft going on, Volunteered for the most part to serve in combat in Iraq & Afganistan and our government takes a giant crap on them while they sacrifice their lives AND when they come home, I'm ashamed of our current govenment.
We can help these folks though byr what we said we are all going to do, I've already contacted Sen. Dole & Rep. Coble and their offices said they were unaware of the situation with the Oklahoma National Guard and of any Acitive Duty Food shortages or restrictions, to which I replied "well you are aware now, so fix it." _________________
