The rules here are simple but not flexible.
1> Be respectful to other members at ALL times.
2> NO PORN PERIOD!
3> No flaming each other]
Should a flame war start the entire thread will be moved to the "Fight Club" where you can carry out your squabble until there is nothing left to say.
TRY to keep disputes private if at all possible
4> Show proper respect to the president regardless if you agree with whoever that might be.
5> Show respect to our Military and those that serve in it [in whatever branch].
6> ALL Forum rules apply to shoutbox as well
7> Under NO circumstances will you attack another member's opinions be it on the public forum or via PM and Email.
Especially a member of the staff.
To do so will result in an immediate permanent ban from the forum NO EXCEPTIONS.
If you disagree with an opinion of another it is ok to state that fact but be respectful and keep the tone civil.
8> You WILL NOT use the forums email capability to slander another member.
I get a copy of any emails sent through the system so you can bet you WILL get caught
9> *AMENDMENT* Under no circumstances are you to place ads on this forum unless you are a sponsor and are paying for the privilege of advertising here.
*AMENDMENT 2* added 8 March 2007
10>Your replies to posts MUST be more than one or two word replies!!
Posts such as Cool or LOL or just a Emoticon one of these---> WILL be deleted.
11> *NEW*{23 Feb 2008}Newly registered members have 30 days in which to post there required introductory [1st] post.
They have 14 days in which to activate their accounts using the activation email sent upon registration to the forum.
Failure to comply with either of these 2 simple requirements WILL result in account deletion
Thats it, Just 11 simple rules.
Any questions just fire them off at me or one of the Mods or other admins, We are here to help you if you need it. _________________ <table border="0" bordercolor="#F6FCFD" width="1" bgcolor="#F6FCFD">

One thing I've learned is if what you are doing is not working stop and try something new.
Since I started the very first forum we were on I have been trying to play Mr. Nice Guy and trying to be all things to all people.
Well from hear out that practice will be no more!
We are all very different people from different cultures lifestyles and backgrounds.
Of course we are bound to dissagree from time to time that is just life.
No since getting all rowdy and boistrous about a difference of opinion and acting worse that a three year old child because somebody dissagreed with you on something.
Just mind your manners and be respectful with your replies on the hot topics.
As long as you do you can bet that there will be no trouble between us.
Until I piss you off don't listen to Gossip queens that get their rocks off downgrading those they don't understand.
Play by the rules and no one will get into trouble.
And I will not have to be the "bad guy"
Look I'm just the board founder. I started Outsider's World when I seen a need for a fun relaxing place for patriots to be able to come together and goof off without worry of someone pounding us over our melons for trying to get to know each other.
In the beggining I tried to immulate another forum too much with rules and looks and such.
Now we're on our third version and I've decided to chill out a bit in order to let you all really enjoy the forum that much more.
I hope that you all will agree with the direction I'm going to attempt to take us in.
As always,

Ok just an update and guide for posting here.
I did not cover Off topic discussions in the rules above and that was on purpose because I'm not heavy handed when it comes to getting off topic on our threads.
I started out being strict on that but have since relaxed as much as I can without letting things become a free-for-all however I will say just use common sense when replying to a thread.
If the discussion is about the M-16 there is really no need to discuss Mom's apple pie as good as it might be it has no bearing on the topic at hand.
ocassionaly there might be some off tracking going on and I will let it slide for a time but if I see a topic getting too distorted or lost in cyber-Hell I will at that point say something about it.
There is no need to bust a gasket over one off topic comment.
That might work on other well established boards but not here.
Here we are too young to be that cocky or firm handed.
I want new members to feel like they belong from day one and the new members are most likely to stray off topic.
The Mods and admins here have been instructed from day one that I will not allow egos or heavy handed dealings with the members.
I guess that if it works on well established forums that is great but I've been singled out before on that stuff and I reviewed my reply and compaired with the topic I could not see where I was off topic in the least
so in order to prevent the same thing happening to members of this forum
I decided to not be so obtouse with dealing with such things.
As long as you use you common sense then there is really no reasson for me to say anything about what you post.
Any questions/comments feel free to post here.
Thanks OS

Please be sure that you re-read the rules posted in the first post in this thread. There is an added amendment to them #10 was just added today and is expected to start being enforced by the administrative staff immediately!!
From now on one or two word replies on this forum are to be deleted
For the rest of the members here let me remind you that one or two word posts add NOTHING to a discussion if you have nothing to add besides cool or lol DON'T BOTHER
We want you to participate and we want you to enjoy yourself while here but this IS NOT a stinkin' chatroom this is a discussion forum <---click for definition
effective immediately any one or two word posts WILL be deleted Honestly the staff and I have more to be doing besides looking for "substandard posts we need to be concentrating on looking for porn posts and other Spam posts.
Don't waste our time by making us play "Bad Cop" it will NOT be favorable in respect to your account here.
Continued violations of this rule WILL result in account suspension with public warning attached
Don't play around with this or any other rule.
*REMINDER about issued warnings*
If you are issued a Warning here your rank image is replaced with an
and you will keep this image for a total of 1 full year from date of issue.

I may be one of those that has used one word responses. I would not have thought anything wrong with it, as I picked it up from other boards I am on. I only use it to show that a post was read and acknowledged/appreciated or Iagreed/disagreed. I will do my best not to do this - However, if I mess up, I apologize in advance. It is very common on the other boards. This dang memory of mine doesn't serve me so well sometimes. Thanks for the heads up _________________

Hey "bsb006", we understand my friend not all boards have the same rules and that's great and I'm sure I won't get all upset if you or anyone else slips up and posts that way once in a while particularly in a joke thread or something less serious, but as O.S. stated it must be kept to a minimum to keep folks from spamming threads for points, etc. Take care bud... _________________

Thanks AFSP. It is hard to keep all the rules straight going from board to board... I haven't been on any boards much lately - just popping in now and again when I have the chance.
I will try hard - don't want the mods going crazy on us!!!! _________________

Effective immediately
We are beginning to really crack down on our activity policy regarding the forum.
As of late things have slowed Way down which was anticipated due to the fact that summer is here and many will be going on vacation over the next few months and we DO understand that fact but going 4 months without so much as logging in?
Come on!!
Unless you are active duty military that has been deployed there really is no excuse to not at least log-in once in a while.
You might have noticed that our membership #'s are way down that is because I just finished deleting the last couple of hundred inactive members that registered but either never activated their account [Spam Bots]
Or they activated but have not returned so we figure that they really don't want to be here anyway.
With the forum being an invitation only forum there probably won't be any more problems with the damn bots but we ARE closely monitoring who is logging in and who is not doing anything so
We ARE NOT going to beg you to participate and we're NOT going to hound you to death either the choice to do or not to do is up to you but DO NOT come to Me, Outsider or any staff member crying if your account does get deleted.
Come on people Get involved or soon there might not be a place here to be involved with there have been discussions this weekend of maybe closing down the forum due to the recent "lack of interest"
Would hate to see that happen but with Outsider not feeling well lately + his dealing with allot of tough issues that effect his morale he is likely to do just about anything at this point.
So if you really want this place to remain in existence start posting as often as you can.
If you feel there is a need for something to be added post your suggestion in the suggestions forum surely there is plenty of topics to choose from if you'll take the time to look for them and simply post your thoughts on those subjects.
If you need help with anything post your questions or PM them to a staff member ALWAYS remember the only stupid questions are those NOT asked.
Nobody will redicule you or make you feel stupid for asking a question if they do contact me immediately I promise you it will NOT happen again
Edited for corrections/updates

I have read and understand the rules for this forum.
Also I will do my utmost to uphold these polices but,
I just have to say one small thing regarding the warning image.
That thing is hideous looking and certainly NOT something I want showing as my rank image so you can bet I'm going to be on my best behavior. |

LOL well, that was the idea.
When I created the warning images I wanted them to be ugly and hopefully discuorage any rule breaking.
It is meant to be a psycological thing really.
Fortunately we've had only one memberNow 2 in our time as a community to earn a warning and that 1st member is no longer with us he decided that we were not the cool place to be anymore and said that he "had more important things to do"<shrug>
