Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Thomas K. Burkhard has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Burkhard is currently serving as commander, Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Va.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Bruce W. Clingan has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Clingan is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group THREE, Bremerton, Wash.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Donna L. Crisp has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral. Crisp is currently serving as director for Manpower and Personnel Readiness, J1, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Derwood C. Curtis has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Curtis is currently serving as special assistant, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego, Calif..
