Stop lights flicker in the night
Pausing as if to allow her to procede
Denying the go ahead she gently brakes
Watching the sky fall before her eyes
Faintly smiling as if she knew something
Although her mind was a blank canvas
Drawing words from the inner depths
Unknown and laced with a punch
Mirages appear before her, around her
Stars mingling with the sky, the moon
Causing a kaleidascope to surround her
An urge overcomes this girl to just stay
Ignoring all sounds that become apparent
Behind her - angered horns blaring
Side to side - strangers faces glare
Bewildered at her frozen trance
Do they see what she sees?
Marvelous wonders above
All things known to her, them
Given in the form of a loan
Taking each other for granted
Destroying lives, relationships
Mean words polluting loved ones
Things of the norm these days
Questions can be asked
No one will answer
Too much effort to try
Care is NOT of the norm
A cycle that grows as it feeds
Upon all who are self-induced
They say cycles can be broken
But how would they know...
unless they began to care.

Indifference and self-centered behavior is so easy, isn't it? I find myself trapped within those vices nearly every day. _________________ "Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost" |
