sometimes some of our best works are just pure reflex.

Thank you both of you.
This was a piece I wrote for my cousin
who lost a friend of hers to suicide. What's
crazy is that I didn't even remember this piece
when I came across the title. I guess I wrote
it on pure reflex for the pain she was feeling.

Crying reminds us that we can express

Post subject: Healed Time
News of such tragedy in ones life
Seems unfair as you try to take it in
Wondering why there’s such strife
Losing someone dear to your heart
As the days, weeks, months and years pass
Time allows you to heal as you move on
What seems impossible, you do surpass
You then begin to smile once again
Tears turn into laughter, into joy
Memories of a friendship so dear
Soon will be a feeling you’ll enjoy
Remembering how special they are
Grief reminds us that we are mortal
Crying reminds us that we can express
Pain reminds us that we are not immortal
Time reminds us that we will surely heal
Hold on to what you shared, never let go
Keep it in your thoughts as you live on
Behind shut eyes you see him wave hello
Waking up to heal another day
Never fully comprehending why he did this
You may never understand, only he knew
Feeling as if the mark in life he always did miss
Unknowing there were other options, just pain
Don’t deny your heart to bleed a little more
Let it beat for the time that was spent
Don’t deny your mind to question what’s in store
Let it race trying to find your answers
Some things in life can never be given back
Remembrance will be there, pain always felt
Tribulation getting worse, build up, yes, plaque
Feeling blame for some deed or another
The final conclusion is the gem:
Let ones always know you love them
Because this world we live in
… can be the worst sin.
