Here is a call totally blown(probably intentionally) by Back Judge Jeff Bergman.
4th Quarter Browns down by 6. Last play with the clock winding down to 0. Browns at the AZ 40. Anderson throws the ball into the corner of the endzone. Kellen Winslow jumps for it. He reels it in as he is hit by Antrel Rolle who is driving him towards the sideline. Winslow lands with one foot in bounds. It couldn't be more obvious that he would have landed in had he not been shoved. The play was reviewed, and the Browns got their usual Official Screwing. Game over. Arizona wins.
Of course, nothing will be done as the officials have done this to the Browns since the beer bottle throwing incident a few years back. |

| Agreed...looked like a push out to me also. I think that rule is one of the worse in the NFL as it forces the officials to make a judgment call. Sometimes they call it one way, sometimes another...it's a crap shoot. The league should simplify the rule. Either you land in or not. |

| I agree with you that the play at the end of the game could have been ruled a force-out, but that was not the worst call of the game by a long shot. Braylon Edwards 67 yard touchdown reception ruling was completely unexplainable. The replay clearly showed that Terrence Holt had touched him after he caught the ball and was falling (or was caused to fall by the contact with Holt) to the ground. Despite the fact there was significant and obvious contact the referee ruled that there was not enough visual evidence to overturn the call. So they gave him a touchdown for getting up after being tackled and running into the end zone. |

| I didn't catch that play, but it wouldn't surprise me. Still, the push out was a game determiner, which should never be called wrong. With all the penalties they racked up, the Browns didn't deserve to win, but that doesn't take away the fact that they should have. Games in all sports should be determined by the skill of the guys playing it, not the quality of the guys officiating it. |

The edwards touchdown was bogus. He was hit by the defender which was obvious to everybody except the officials and if you watch it without a biased view it clearly made edwards off balance causing the fall which would clearly be down by contact. But as bad as the officiating is you can never be sure with calls anymore. All the commentators prior to the erroneous call said that it would be over ruled because of the contact and they were totally amazed that it wasn't. Look with objective eyes and he was clearly hit by the defenders leg and he went down.
I agree in part with the last call of the game, the catch in the endzone, it was very close and I truly don't know if he would have been out. |
