Yet again, the NFL saves the worst for last.

Madden 08 is more real than NFL football.

Edit: Mike Carey officiated both Giants-Patriots games this season. Juventus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Serie_A_scandal) anyone?

First time in a long time I did not see the officials bending over backwards for the Patriots in a post season game.

Overall, I thought the officials did a pretty good job of letting the players decide the outcome.  Toomer definitely got away with a push off on his long catch in the 2nd quarter and there were a couple other non-calls, but I'd take that any day over having the officials throw a flag on something marginal.

Also of note...Senator Arlen Spector is meeting with commission Goodell to find out why the Patriots "Spygate" tapes were destroyed and why the league did not follow up on claims that the Patriots secretly taped a Rams walk-through practice before Super Bowl XXXVI.

I can not agree or disagree with you because you didn't point out anything specific.

I will say that I was surprised that they missed the interference call in the first quarter (which was also illegal hands to the face) committed by toomer (it was toomer, not buress I think).
They also seemed to miss the fact that a pats defenceman recovered a fumble and it was taken  from him while laying face first on the ground after they started to go through the pile.  What was interesting was that the announcers that had to see it clearly did not mention it either.

Those were the only too calls that I could say were 100%.

The other close calls, I wasn't able to see replays on.

I don't think the calls changed the outcome, but the lack of calls might have.

Although I believe in letting them play, I don't believe in letting teams play a whole quarter to figure out that you are going to let them play.

IF the ref's had told both teams that they were going to "let them play" Randy Moss would have probably run the first 10 plays slamming people to the ground, pushing off to the face or maybe even pulled a pistol and shot the opposing CB, just to see how much he could get away with.

I didn't think the game was poorly called as I can only bring up two points (and back them up).

My observations that I can't prove 100%.

It took forever to call pass interferance on the play that lead to the pats 1st and goal on the one.  The Giants defender practically rode down the field on the Pats guy back (I can't remember names but if you watched the game, you know exactly what I am talking about).

I don't remember a single holding call against the Giants.  Manning had all day to throw the ball, and Brady never had more then 3 steps.  I DO however remember 2 offsides that were called against the cowboys when they were playing the giants (that replays showed never happened).

Eli Manning who ALWAYS lets the clock run down to 2 or 1 was called for one late snap.  The flag was thrown about 5 or 6 seconds AFTER the playclock expired.

If you claimed that I am a bitter patriots fan, I would understand that...except I am not a patriots fan Smile

I just like football when it is called evenly.
