Well, well! Something to talk about at last!
So, it looks like the Galactic Congress is in a wee bit of turmoil.
I'm going to say that the entrance of the Hand (An organization, I'm assuming? Not unlike the Repentant, possibly?) is going to mess up whatever strides forward the pulling out of several largely influential races would have caused. |

Goodie! I've been starved for some Pie-talk. ^_^
Here's the sketch of "The Hand (of God)". http://sacredpie.com/pie/S383.jpg
I have to say, I'm a bit torn actually. Normally I'd find the kind of rhetoric used by the Sentan senator as religiously fanatic, and quite frankly, a load of crap. Things change when you have tangible proof of God's existance, by extention of the Sacred Objects of Lucifer.
What I'm wondering then is, what do the other non-believers of the Congress think the Sacred Objects are? I mean, creating an indefinite amount of raw energy out of nothing (like with the Gloves) defies pretty much every law Newton or Einstein laid out. _________________ ...

All right, so it's definitely a group.
Do the non-believers of the congress even believe there are "Sacred Objects?" And if they do, obviously they don't believe they were created by Lucifer... |

It would seem hard not to believe in them as their existance is well ducumented. At least, I think they are. The most well known Sacred Objects would probably be those that belonged to Maur; the Gauntlet and the Belt. Maur was known throughout the entire Galaxy.
But the more I think about it, the more it seems like someone could've made it all out to be just a legend. Maur was an infamous tyrant, so it's conceivable that sceptics would've taken the stories of Maur's destructive and healing powers as mere exaggerations of the truth. "Neverending destructive power" could be a reference to his vast army, and "he just kept coming back! Even after we blasted him with enough lead to drop a wyrgle!" could be a reference to how Maur was able to elude capture for so long, or alternately, he could have had cloned himself so that if he were ever killed in action, he would always have a spare, giving the illusion of eternal life.
The same goes for the Traveller. I bet not everyone believed he did half of all the things he was said to have done. He was, after all, the protégé of Galvornious, and a good friend of the Dodlers; they could have created for him some highly powerful devices that could've passed for Sacred Objects. _________________ ...

Ah! A dust-free message board!
As for the "non-believers", the Sacred Objects, in their minds, are very powerful weapons that were attributed "magical/religious" powers after their creation. Much in the way that we humans used to think that mental problems were due to demonic possession.
Except, in this case, the sacred Objects really ARE "religious/magically" based. Everyone knows about the Sacred Objects because they actually do exist. Their origins, however, are unprovable (by any scientific/subjective means.)
Also- let's not forget that the Sacred Objects are not the only things that can do what they do (the Sacred Objects are just better at it.) Example: the Medallion can open up portals to instantaneously travel from one point to another. So can the Guardsmen's planetoid (by Bahonyo's VERY scientific design.) Granted, Bahonyo's version doesn't do time travel (or super-precise inner-atmosphere wormholes), but it's the same premise. The Pendori Priests can manifest energy through sheer will (not unlike the Gloves, just with more effort/skill/training/biological ability involved).
Once Book three starts, we'll get to see a lot of "almost" Sacred Objects- which are technologically engineered versions of Sacred Objects (just not to the same level of awesomeness.) |

| Admittedly, I'm just a guest, but a thought has occured to me...is there any reason that the medallion can't exist in two places at the same time? |

None at all, since it can indeed exist in two places at the same time.
And welcome to the boards Guest, but why not sign up? It's quick and easy and cheap, in fact, it won't cost you a thing. _________________ ...

| Well, I might join at that, but the question that's come to mind is this...is it absolutely certain that this hyperdrive is what Bahonyo claims? It occurs to me that if the Admiral's plan to retrieve the Medalion is successful...is it possible that they're using the Medalion to get the planetoid around? It would make quite a bit of sense... |

Sure, but as Philbob clarified in this very thread, the Guardsmen's Planetoid was designed by Bahonyo and is in fact not the Medallion. Like he said, the Medallion isn't the only way to travel from one point to another instantaneously, it's just better at it.
Don't forget that we've seen the wormhole in action in the comic before when Roonas created one to escape from the Grundarians. http://sacredpie.com/run39.html
The Guardsmen's Planetoid creates wormholes using the same basic principle, only they're safer and more accurate. _________________ ...

Regarding the Sacred Object copycats, if you snoop through the sketches sections you'll find at least one: the tunic. And also if you look at some of the sketches of the mooks for future scenes, you'll find a few with them sporting weapons and equipment not unlike the objects they used to carry. _________________ "You actually need a reason to have an orgy?" -Alex Roentgen
