Looking at last weeks update I wondered... Who'd win in a fight between Object-Tibis and Rai (or Jai)?
I know, Rai (or Jai) would inevitably win in the long run, but ponder this: Verdijer was able to stall both Rai and Jai for a couple of minutes, an amazing feat all things considered, but I don't think that even the V-man would be able to stand up agains Tibis for that long at this point.
So how do you think a battle between Tibis and Rai would turn out?

Well, the obvious answer is that, technically, he CAN'T beat Rai, Jair, nor Verdijer...you can't kill any of those 3, so, by default, Tibis loses.
As for how he'd do in a fight...I would think he would probably be able to outclass Verdijer, but I'd have to think it would be a pretty close fight.
I don't know how he'd stand up against Rai/Jai...they EASILY beat a huge group of Angels. That alone makes me think they'd be able to beat him pretty easily. |

What do you two whities have against the BLACK man, huh?
For one thing, I think Verdijer held Rai and Jai off for longer than just a couple of minutes. The boys were still in the city when Verdijer and the Angels went at it with the Deadly Duo, and we know that the escape ship was waaaay out in the waste to keep prying eyes away. Even moving that huge honking vehicle they were in at top speed, it'd take more than just a couple minutes for them to drive out there, get situated, and get launched. Verdijer had to have held Rai and Jai off for at least seven to ten minutes.
Now, as for V-Sid versus Tibis. Verdijer hands down. Tibis even with all of the objects is still very little of a threat to V-Sid. Let's do a lit'l summing up!
Tibis: Grundarian General, yes, but very young.
V-Sid: Immortal Warrior for good, yes, but hundreds of years old with vast combat experience.
Tibis: Several years of training amongst the best Grundarian military minds, not to mention his recent training from ol' Lucy-Ducy himself.
V-Sid: Hundreds of years of training in a DEATH MAZE, by the very angels that defeated Lucifer at the battle of Crus Sanctus Locus.
Tibis: Has some of the sacred objects, including the belt which is about as good as being immortal, and the gauntlet which in skilled hands can destroy entire armies like so much raid on a swarm of gnats.
V-Sid: Withstood both of the most powerful beings in the universe alone, longer than a group of elite angels could.
If you remember, even when Sid was mortal and had even less training than Sid, Sid still KOed Tibis. Granted he had the Tunic at the time, it still speaks volumes. Sid has always shone himself to be an exceptional warrior, even from day one.
Tibis has always been overconfident in the external. In the past it was just the pants, and his status. Now it is the majority of the objects, and Lucifer's special treatment that will be his undoing. Tibis is a spoiled kid with a lot of power.
I have no doubt that even with his current objects and skills, Tibis would not only lose, but die at V-Sid's hands. _________________ "You actually need a reason to have an orgy?" -Alex Roentgen

You seem pretty confident in your boy there, but all the fancy armour and all the divine tutoring in the world doesn't help you when you're up against no less than FIVE of the Sacred Objects, especially when one of them is the Pants.
I think the Pants were misrepresented in War. Let's say that Tibis is in excellent condition and can run at a top speed of 32 mph. That means, if he used his Pants to their fullest, he could run at a top speed of 480 miles per hour! Adding to that, everyone else running at top speed (32 mph) would seem like they were running at only 2.1 mph to Tibis.
Now imagine how many Glove blasts Bob could let off in one minute. Tibis could let out fifteen times more blasts in the same time.
I dunno about you but I don't think Verdijer could stand up to even one of those blasts. _________________ ...

Yeah, I'm with hatter...Tibis is being trained by the guy that made the objects.
In fact, your comment about Sid being able to stop Tibis with the Tunic kind of proves our point -- Tibis was the better warrior, but Sid knocked him out by using one of the objects.
(The reason I'm saying that Tibis is the better warrior is due to the fact that he's a General. I would assume that that means he's a good fighter.)
So, even if Verdijer is a better warrior at this point, Tibis has the objects. It's like using a Game Genie. If you lose, it's because you're an idiot -- and, though overconfident, I don't think Tibis is an idiot.
Though, of course, you DO have a point -- he IS overconfident, which probably will be his downfall. |

For once I'm going to hold my tongue, and wait. For what? Well, when they invade Grundar, and Tibis is ultimately taken down, we'll see how. Based off of how that happens we can deduce how he would fair against Verdijer.
I'm think Tibis will go down in a couple of ways. He'll either blow himself up with his overzealous use of the objects, or Sid will kill him.
But knowing how my predictions turn out, it'll probably be Bob kills him by tripping a causing a landslide that crushes Tibis.
You know, if Tibis were worth his weight in salt, he'd use the objects to fly into orbit and blow up the incoming fleet with the glove/gauntlet combination as they exited hyperspace. But he's not, so he won't. He's so full of himself he'll want to face them on the ground.
[Edit]Anyone else notice that the inner chambers floor is a LAKE OF FIRE?! Those frickin' idiot Grundarians. Sure they have an impenetrable shield around the medallion holder, and later the city itself, but if the guys get inside, all they have to do is blow up the platform they are standing on and it falls into the lava or fire or whatever that is. Then just fish the medallion out later. _________________ "You actually need a reason to have an orgy?" -Alex Roentgen

Well actually, that's kind of the point. Tibis is the last line of defence until the Sacred Helmet arrives. Once the Helmet arrives, it's all over, Lucifer wins, so they don't have to defeat their enemies, only hold them off. Lucifer is kind of putting all his eggs in one basket here, so he's not going to be taking any unnecessary chances by sending Tibis out to fight unless he absolutely has to.

Well, sure. In hindsight it might've been a poor choice to open the portal there, but Lucy didn't suspect there would be an invasion later on when he did, and it's not like he can move the portal someplace else now. And don't rip on the Grundarians man, it was Lucifer who was of poor judgement, not them. _________________ ...

The more intelligent a person is, the dumber they actually are. That is my rule of thumb. I'm pretty intelligent myself, and I know I can be pretty stupid sometimes. That's why I am able to out smart and fool almost everyone except the exceptionally stupid. They're so dumb I just can't get one past them. Why? Because everyone has beat me to it. In their youth they were the butt of every joke, and the fall guy for every scheme. So, they've built up a shield of skepticism so thick, I actually have to tell an idiot the truth to fool them. This is ALWAYS true. I don't have that problem with smart people- because they're dumb-shits. I've made people with more college education than gawd himself believe the most incredible malarkey. Why? Because they're smart. Understand? No? Good. That'd mean you're smart, and that's bad.
The Grundarians are very smart. Smart enough to make a HUGE room of liquid fire for their progenitor and god to reside inside of his most sacred temple! All that advanced technology and knowledge, but they're all dumb-shits.
I don't have to make sense! I'm the fuckin' king of Neverland! _________________ "You actually need a reason to have an orgy?" -Alex Roentgen

But enough about Tibis vs. Verdijer.
On to Tibis vs. Rai!

Well see, there's where I think you're mistaken. I think Tibis would beat Verdijer very easily. What Tibis lacks in experience he makes up for in raw firepower and nigh invulnerability.
Since Verdijer managed to last longer than a whole bunch of Angels against both Rai and Jai, I think Tibis would have no problem at all at surviving against just one of them, or even both of them for that matter. _________________ ...

Sure, Tibis has the raw firepower, and the training from Lucifer himself, but...I don't see how he could stand up to Rai or Jai.
When it comes down to it, a mortal possessing the Sacred Objects doesn't seem, to me, to be raised up to such a level that they could contend with a higher being -- which Rai and Jai are (or, at least, that is what is assumed). |

I don't know what you've got against Verdijer, or why you think so little of him. I suspect that maybe in a side story or in part of the main story we are going to see just how badass Verdijer is. I mean, we've only seen a couple of scenes where Verdijer actually fought, and both of those times he was quite possibly the most powerful warrior other than the twins that we've seen in the comic. Not Maur, not ANY of the bounty hunters, none of the criminals we've seen fight, or the random baddies duking it out, and face it even lil Tibby her... I mean himself has anything coming close to the sheer baddassness or raw asskickatude of Verdijer - EXCEPT Rai and Jai.
I just don't see what you're seeing here. I'm sure lil Tibs, is going to be hella badass for a minute. But I seriously doubt that his badassity levels will be anywhere near the levels of Verdijer.
As for Rai/Jai versus Tibby, I'm in agreement with Kench. The battle would probably easily go to Rai and Jai.
Also, keep in mind that we have NEVER seen Rai or Jai take any damage whatsoever. We don't knw how they would handle being shot or blown up or even cut. What if they are like T-1000 and reform instantly, or if they are like erector sets and can snap parts back on after they are blown or cut off. Not to mention their insane speed. I still have no idea how the Guardsman even caught Rai in the beginning of the comic. Maybe he wanted to be there, which is probably true seeing how the turn of events went. The twins posses ungodly amounts of power. I'm convinced that if Rai wanted to, he could have ripped the holding cell door off the wall and slaughtered every Guardsman in the planetoid with only his teeth. But as we know, the twins like to move unseen and usually don't do big showy things. They skulk around in the shadows, strike like a viper then disappear again. It's obviously rare that they go out and assault a whole planet to kill three mooks.
Tibby wouldn't stand a chance. _________________ "You actually need a reason to have an orgy?" -Alex Roentgen

Ok then, let me walk you through this. Verdijer managed to stall Rai and Jai for a couple of minutes, but he eventually fell by their teamwork and incredible speed. This is an amazing feat, and V-Sid must have had exceptional reflexes to pull it off.
Tibis is faster than Verdijer.
Way faster. That's why I think he would be able to hold his own against Rai and Jai for at least as long as Verdijer did, if not longer.
Oh, and not to mention the fact that he's covered in completely indestructable Sacred Objects, he can fly, and he can heal any injury in a matter of seconds.
Top that V-man.
Oh, and for the record, I'm in no way denying that Verdijer is one badass dude. He singlehandedly held off the avatars of Chaos and Harmony for longer than what even the best warriors of Heaven could manage. He may possibly be the most powerful close range fighter in the entire universe, next to Rai and Jai of course.
But he cannot measure up to a long range fighter like Tibis unless he's considerably faster or invulnerable to his attacks, neither of which Verdijer is. _________________ ...

Right, but Atlas made a very good point -- you have to also consider Tibis' personality. I'm willing to bet that he thinks himself to be just as powerful as you're saying, which would leave him VERY open to being defeated.
Again, I think that Tibis would win in a fight, but it would be close, because I'm sure that Verdijer would take into consideration all of the aspects of the objects. |

Verdijer looks pretty strong. He could possibly toss a building around like the Hulk, seeing as how there are no limits to his strength except those in his mind. So let's say he does get into a fight with Tibby. Okay, so he takes one of those nice butcher swords off his back and chucks it at Tibby like there were no tomorrow. He can throw rocks like bullets too.
And as for Tibby's armor. His chest is not covered by any objects at all. Just regular ol' armor. Without the tunic or the helmet, any relativly large explosive device or really strong sharp object could penetrate. While Verdijer's armor is nigh-invulnerable (By the way Phil, you mizspelled invulnerable on that page). He could probably take a lot of damage before being stopped.
Now the belt is a problem there. He'd have to do you Tibby what Kipp and Martyn did to Maur. But I don't see that as being hard.
And as for incredible speed. I don't think that's a problem for Verdijer.
Verdijer could probably match Tibby's speed if he wanted to. You have to remember that Rai and Jai have probably always existed, and thus have insane skills and power. While they dispatched an elite squad of angels with more ease than you use a Cuisinart, Verdijer with only several hundred years of training stood alone and went toe-to-toe with not just one of the most powerful beings in the universe, but BOTH OF THEM at the same time. Those angels were the angels that kicked Lucifers ass all over existence and back, and they were slaughtered like fatted Christmas hogs! Do you not see what I'm saying here!? Are you so blind as to not see the awesome power that Verdijer contains!? Next to T'Yalla - that had to be taken down by a MASSIVE army and space fleet - Verdijer is a warrior to behold. Tibis is just not on the same level! Unless that is, if he had been given the right to a sacred object which Lucifer holds oh so dear to himself that he'd rip whole worlds in twain... The pie herself. But I doubt that, since for one Lucy wouldn't do that (again? see: past discussions on T'Yalla), and two she was released by Sid. If she got away, then maybe Lucy couldn't even if he wanted to. Though, where is there to hide in hell from Lucifer? He sees everything - or so he says. |
