Issue #245 Final Cover by: Rob 'The Rascal' Garrett
Hey Boomers!
This year will be the fifteenth year of STC, and a lot’s changed around our offices since then. For one, I’ve gotten a shiny, sleek, new body – the Humes… okay, we won’t go there. But change is the name of the game. There’s no standing still and playing it safe when you’re writing about the cool blue one, as you’ll find out as we speed towards the grand 250th issue!
What’s that? Psychic gangsters, world-eating monsters, high-speed criminals and the tabloids aren’t enough for you? You want a big Sonic epic, one that will push him to his edge and where nothing is certain? Be careful what you wish for! Beginning today is the first in a four-part thriller – and a deadly Ultimatum has been issued! The last time we saw Tekno and Shorty, they were sucked into the Eternity Ring. Where did they go? Find out in Sunrise! And if that’s not enough action for you, how about the return of our apocalyptic Vichama story arc? Knuckles has been killed by the God of Death – and an outmatched Tikal’s only chance is Emergency Program One!
And don’t forget that this May is the 2008 Comic Expo at Bristol and with it comes the Eagle Awards once again! The Eagles will reward the best comics output of 2007, as chosen by you, the readers! STC-O is once more in the running for Favourite Web-Based Comic and STC alumni Richard Elson is up for Best Artist, and anyone can be nominated for the various categories. Once the nominations are counted, the Top Five nominated chances are in the running for the main vote – with your help, Boomers, STC-O can once again get into the Top Five (and then lose to Penny Arcade)!
And keep your eyes out in May, Boomers, for our 15th anniversary celebrations!

[color=blue] SONIC THE COMIC - ONLINE! SPECIAL 15TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION Hey Boomers!
The day is finally here – STC’s fifteenth birthday! When people claimed we’d last this long back in 1993, they were laughed at and cruelly prodded. It was a different time, when only rich nobs had Internet and it was all dial-up – when the UK comic industry was having a burst of titles and before the crash that took whole companies – and when Sonic the Hedgehog and Sega strode the world like a colossus. Boomers with long memories and wrinkly skin will remember gasping over the Mega Drive (the It console), picking up merchandise, visiting the Sega Bus, thrilling to this fortnight’s STC, and watching a cushy two Sonic cartoons on Channel 4.
Much of that’s gone now, mainly due to some… questionable business decisions (yes, I’m looking at you, Mr “Let’s Not Have A New Sonic Game To Launch The Saturn”!) But somehow, despite the damage done to Sega… Sonic survives. He’s had multiple cartoons shown worldwide, he has merchandise still, he has best-selling games, and even That Other Comic. And much like the blue spiky one, while STC has faced many odds and setbacks (not least the loss of its print incarnation), it still carries on, is remembered and spawns new material made by dedicated boomers. It still thrives thanks to you, the fans, and the dedication of all the humes who ever had a hand in it.
In celebration, we have a Zone’s worth of posters and a new strip revealing an unsung hero of Mobius.
And if you want more, just wait until late June when #246 hits the ground running

IT'S THE MILESTONE 200th ISSUE OF SONIC THE HEDGEHOG...AND THE FREEDOM OF MOBIUS HANGS IN THE BALANCE!!!
Sonic The Hedgehog has achieved something few comic book characters from the 1990s have: his title has survived for over 15 years! Why? Chalk it up to a fiercely loyal fan base (comprised of a surprising number of adults in addition to children) who take their hero as seriously as any popular fantasy character! The comic books offer fans adventures which go beyond the video games and animated cartoons to expand the Sonic universe - and the personalities of the characters who populate it.
Over the years, fans have thrilled to pulse-pounding tales of intrigue and peril as the peace of Knothole Village was threatened by a menagerie of menacing villains. In the process, alliances were made, betrayals occurred, families were torn asunder and reunited again, and romances bloomed. Through it all, the heroic efforts of Sonic and his friends stood above the fray, setting an example for others to follow.
Now, the epic anniversary issue you've been waiting for is finally here! Back in Sonic #50, Sonic managed to win against his arch-rival, Dr. Robotnik. In Sonic #175, the doctor got his revenge! Now, in issue #200, they duel for the fate of the world! Will freedom come to Mobius? Or will the Eggman Empire rule forever more? Place your bets - but be ready for the startling conclusion! Don't miss this cranium-creasing, brain- bending, mind-blowing saga! Features a dimension-crossing cover by Patrick Spaziante.

Spaz still does the most awesome covers ever.
STCol #248 This is one small step for Sonic, but one giant leap for Hume-kind. As a special Christmas treat to you all, we’re not just bringing back four strips for the first time since 1998 – we’re doing five! Pulling this off for this issue wasn’t easy, but here at STC-O HQ we don’t rest on our backsides (well, I do, I have no legs).
The final part of our Sonic shocker hits out, with Sonic and Metallix in final battle – and with a title like Goodbye, Mobius, expect something devastating! Sonic’s not the only one in danger though, as Tekno and Shorty face Set’s grand scheme in Sunset – and in our flashback story Revolutionary, Tekno and Amy face Zone Leader Nack! But that’s not enough apocalyptic drama for us, so House Of The Dead brings us a desperate attempt to escape zombie-infested London! The fifth strip is none other than Knuckles; the final part of the Vichama story has been regrettably delayed, for which I apologise, but we hope you’ll enjoy the return of Dr Zachary in The Prisoner.
Big stuff, eh? You might be wondering how we could possibly beat this in our landmark 250th issue. Well just you wait and see…

I'm not really looking forward to rereading the "End Game" saga. I still hate Ken Penders for writing it. He tried to kill off Sally, because he didn't like her! Now for all of those people out there who say they hate Sally because she's "a naked slut" and they should have left her dead, I would love to say F*** YOU very much, but most of you are little snot faced brats and I don't want be accused of being a pedophile. I would say F*** OFF instead, but y'all probably just did that in your bathroom five minutes ago. All of us original fans of the tv show and comic fought tooth and nail to get her back. Every body stopped buying the comic, save for a few scabs. Then we all boycotted Sega for allowing Achie comics to print such a story. It took a lot of hard work, but it payed off when the C.E.O. of Sega came to the states and ordered Penders to fix it. I'm f***'n glad that Archie fired Penders' sorry a**.
