What did you like / dislike about The Saint episode "The Better Mousetrap"? Share most memorable moments from the episode, its characters and actors.  :smt001

Amber (or anyone who has seen this episode recently), I noticed you posted some captures from the ep on another thread, which means it must be fresh on your mind. I, too, watched it a few days ago, and have a question.

When the older female character Bertha was caught as the mastermind behind the robberies, she said that her worst mistake was marrying (she gave the man's name) who was also her partner in a trapeze act. Whom did she mean? Was it the man who fell to his death when planting earrings in the Saint's room, or did she mean someone else?

Yes,  the man who fell to his death was the man Bertha had married, and was also her partner in crime as well as in a trapeze act some time before.

This is one of my fav eps of The Saint for several reasons:

The brilliant casting of Ronnie Barker as Alphonse

The drunk lady with the jewels I found v funny

The line that Simon says to the police inspector about a dog fastening his teeth to the seat of ones pants hehe.

.....and the very romantic and beautiful location.  :smt003 I liked Bertha, she had a fun personality.

I agree, one of the best!

I liked it when Simon was introduced to Natalie's friends, and the actress lady said he was "beautiful." Then when Simon was out of earshot, said to her husband "Buy me that!"

I thought it was good too, that Simon had some in-depth conversations with Natalie about her past, and why she was distrustful of men.
