I believe this was the first "Saint" episode that Roger directed, and he did a fantastic job.

The female lead - Nanette Newman - was married to actor/producer Bryan Forbes. Roger had been  best man some years before at their wedding. He and Bryan had been friends since their army days.

Roger's movie "The Man Who Haunted Himself" was made by Bryan's production company shortly after "The Saint" ended.

Here's a scene from "The Miracle Tea Party" with Roger and his good friend, as mentioned above - Nanette Newman.

Also in this one was Fabia Drake, who played "Aunt Hattie" a very formidable lady. As it turned out, Fabia was also one of Roger's tutors in his RADA days. She reprised "Aunt Hattie" in a later episode - "The Smart Detective."

Roger told this story of when he was filming a sequence in a large London railway station. Crowds had gathered to watch what was going on. Roger, being the director, and not wanting a lot of attention while he was very busy, wore some old  clothes hoping it would disguise him. His mother had decided to join the watching crowds. She heard one woman say to another "That Roger Moore, he looks so smart on tv, you wouldn't believe it would you, how scruffy he looks in real life!"

Thanks Kendall. Here's another piece of trivia:

Roger's daughter Deborah was very good friends with Nanette's daughter, and when they were both younger,  used to share an apartment in London.

Was Nanette one of the main characters in the Michael Caine's movie "The Wrong Box", or am I mixing her up with someone else?

Also if I remember correctly while RM was directing this, there was a drunk at the station that RM was trying to get 'moved away' from the action and I think ended up doing it successfully.
