I watched this episode last night and thought the husband was such a weakling. His sister had more guts. I didnt feel sorry for him at all.  :smt012

This is one of my favourites, and I loved the interaction between Simon and Madame Dumont, also the comedy moments when her sister-in-law became her maid.

The husband was quite content to stay working in his little pharmacy, but his wife was driven by ambition, and all he wanted was a quiet simple life. A good all round episode, and good to see Jean Marsh as the sister/sister-in-law.

There are things I liked and disliked about the episode.

I liked:

Simon's personality shone in it.
It was an unusual episode, where ST was teaching someone a lesson rather than chasing bad guys, shooting and fighting, which was a nice change, though I do prefer his action packed episodes.
Jean Marsh was marvelous! Love her in "nice girl" roles better than when she is a villainess.

Didn't like:

The main female lead, but she was perfectly cast, sort of someone to love to hate.
The episode was a bit slow moving, it was a little hard to catch on to what the Saint was going to do.
And I have to side with Kendall about the husband, he was spineless, and from the very beginning he was described as "Mama's boy", someone easilly taken by a conniving woman. But that can be understood and sympathysed with. What surprised me about the husband was that he put up with her open adultery, disrespect and lying for so long, and even in the end she was the one who served him with divorce papers.  :smt084
