This was one of my favourites, and told how Simon went in disguise as a blind beggar in Rome, Italy to find out the identity of "King Of The Beggars." This person was running a protection racket among the city beggars, and those who refused to co-operate were murdered.

Simon once again teamed up with taxi driver Marco di Cesare, played by Roger's real-life friend comedy actor Warren Mitchell. They had some very funny scenes together.

Before too long "Arturo" the blind beggar was taken away to be told about how he must conform to the protection racket or else! Loved the grinning side-kick, it made a nice touch.

I love the episodes where Simon is in disguise, it seems to bring the best out in Roger.

The tables are turned, and Simon and Cesare are thinking of ways to make the grinning side-kick talk. Cesare comes up with some real funny suggestions, and he and Roger look like they're having a lot of fun filming this scene!

Good to see Oliver Reed playing a "heavy" years before he went on to become an international star. This scene was very funny, Simon was demonstrating methods of self-defence to the beggars, and managed to turn the tables.

Right at the end, Oliver Reed's character got shot, and because he wanted to impress everyone, he leaped up into the air and fell backwards. Only thing, he managed to knock himself out cold for real!

I totally agree Amber. This is one of the best episodes. Not that I am blind, but he is very convincing as a blind man, and I also agree that the scenes with Warren Mitchell are hilarious. :smt003

I particularly like this one, and Roger does a great job playing a blind beggar. Love that Italian accent too!

I always like it when he speaks Italian or with Italian accent. He really perfected this one. Being married to an Italian and learning the language probably helped a lot, too.  :smt002 The makeup was also impressive, amazing what they could do with makeup even in those days.
