I quite liked this episode and it was really nice to see Larry Storch again (Angie)coz I remember him from watching FTroop when I was a kid.

This was one of my favourite episodes in "The Persuaders" even though it didn't evolve around Brett and was more of a Danny Wilde episode. I found it to be very touching and loved how Danny and Angie's childhood was shown as memories in black and white in between regular colour of the present time. This set a nostalgic atmosphere for the episode and helped the audience get into the mood of the story and understand why what happened in the past as well as the present was so important to the storyline.

There were two episodes in the series which showed the true friendship between Danny and Brett, in one it was Brett who was in trouble and Danny was there for him, and in this episode, it was the other way around. Through basically the entire "Angie-Angie" episode Danny was defending his old pal Angie trying hard to believe that the friend he knew from the past was still a good man and that he was still his best friend who understood him better than Brett, because Angie and Danny were from the same background and the same part of the world. In the end, however, Danny realized that these things are not as important to being a true friend to someone, and that it was Bret who was his real friend who was there for him and would risk his life to help him, and Angie was nothing more than a part of his childhood. That's the way I understood this episode. I'd love to know if you had the same ideas when watching this episode?

Goodnight007.2, I used to watch "F Troop" too, it was great fun, and they certainly don't make 'em like that anymore do they?

In this  episode  -  "Angie Angie" we saw Danny get  angry and hurt, and  a much more serious side to him. I preferred the light-hearted stories better with plenty of humour.

No Amber, they don't make series like that anymore. I do like this ep because Danny gets mad, shows he's not always the joker. Same as I like the ep where Brett is on his way somewhere for a few days, gets knocked out when helping a lady in distress and nearly ends up a double. His fear in the ep reminds me a bit of the fear he had in The Man Who Haunted Himself.

I liked the serious nature of this episode. Larry Storch was very good too. I have a movie with him when he was younger, made in the 60's, but he wasn't the main star. It's "That Funny Feeling" with Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee. As we were watching the movie on Valentine's Day, I kept wrecking my brains where I had seen Larry Storch before. Then, a few days ago, we watched Angie...Angie, and I got my answer. I never saw the series you mentioned, but heard it was very good.

I was glad that when Brett came looking for Angie and Danny in the hotel room and ran into Marissa, how he persuaded her to talk was left to our imaginations. Usually, Roger's characters use their charm to persuade a lady to give them information. But in this instance, I was actually hoping he'd roughen that girl up a bit, which probably didn't happen, but I was glad it was left up to us to imagine the rest of that story. Of all female characters, Marissa was the most annoying, with that silent smile of hers. Oooh, lol I really wanted to wipe it off her face myself. :smt074

And the story of the true friendship between Danny and Brett was also a wonderful change from some of the more comedic episodes of The Persuaders! Go Danny and Brett!!  :smt041

:smt082 She wasn't very nice, was she? I think they made her "mysteriously silent" on purpose to annoy the audience.

Good episode!!!
