What did you like / dislike about The Persuaders episode "Someone Like Me"? Share most memorable moments from the episode, its characters and actors.  :smt001

I enjoyed this episode. It had shades of "The Man Who Haunted Himself" where Brett was questioning his own sanity.

Brett was friends with a very rich but reclusive business man, who was about to visit London.  (Played by Bernard Lee, "M" in the Bond movies.) Brett had been taken to a make believe hospital, after supposedly having a bad accident. While there he was programmed to kill the friend, when he heard certain words. His wife and others were in on the plot.

To test Brett, to see if he was ready, the baddies set him up to attack Danny, which he did, but something stopped him from actually killing him. The day when Brett was just about to kill his friend, Danny stopped him in the nick of time.

I liked how Roger was allowed to play a range of emotions, so different from his usual light-hearted delivery.

I liked the scene where Brett stumbled out of his hospital room and into the corridor,  and realised he wasn't in a hospital but in a  rat infested broken down old house.

I also liked the way Roger and Tony interacted with each other, especially how sympathetic Danny was while listening to his friends story. and how very angry he got when confronting Brett after his attempt at killing him.

This is a more serious episode than many others from The persuaders. In some episodes, Brett and Danny act like 'the two stooges', but this one is different. I like it very much. My favorite part is when Brett tries to kill Danny. Their true friendship is showing here. Connie, the part with the rat is also impressive. Brett opens the hospital room door and what a stark difference between the all clean and new room and the filthy hallway!

Do you think that those plastic surgery photos in the envelope were there to confuse the audience, or did they serve som purpose to the baddies when they "worked" on Brett? All along I thought that they did create a perfect double, except for the part with the phone call when Brett was acting weird blinking as if under some spell. I wonder what the baddies needed those photographs for? Did you understand that part?
