The Persuaders Powerswitch

Postby Amber on Tue Aug 28, 2007 2:50 pm

I enjoyed this one very much, and we get to see Roger displaying his water ski-ing skills too!  :smt007 The location shots are beautiful, and that's why I love the shows that were set in France, Italy and Monte Carlo.

Nice to see Annette Andre, one of Roger's favourite female co-stars from "The Saint" days, appearing with him again. I'll post some pics very soon.

Great pics, thanks Amber.

I liked this ep a lot because of the 'competition' for the girl's affections between Danny and Brett was hilarious and of course I just love that famous line of Bretts "my name's Sinclair, Brett Sinclair, but you may call me darling", I know that was probably not exactly what he said (I don't remember it verbatim), but it's close enough.

Thanks for your comments  Goodnight007.2.

Here's a bit of trivia,  the man who played the dance choreographer in this episode was Lionel Blair.  He was one of the guests at Roger's wedding to Luisa. He and his sister Joyce Blair used to dance together when very young, entertaining Londoners as they took shelter in the tube stations in WW2. Incidentally, Joyce has also starred with Roger. In "The Saint" episode "Interlude in Venice" she played the villains blonde ex-girlfriend.

Ok, do you mean the lady with the fake Italian accent and the yellow dress who got dumped by Prince whatever his name was? :smt017

Love the pics Amber.

What I liked about the water ski-ing scenes, you could tell it was Roger and not some stunt double. Roger was pretty good too!

Lovely images. Thanks, Amber!
A good episode. I like the beginning when the two friends are water skiing, then Brett sees a dead body in the water and releases the hold. At first Danny thinks that he has won the race and grins triumphantly, but then he realises what's happened. The expression on their faces when they pull the body up to the boat and find out the girl is dead, speaks volumes of the emotions the two are experiencing at that moment.

There are several people from the Saint in this episode. I have to admit that I like Annett's looks in The Saint better, her makeup in The Persuaders looks somewhat washed out, perhaps it's the style of the time.
