My favourite episode in the series. Probably influenced by it being the first epsiode I ever saw in 1992 on a retro-evening one Saturday night.

I had to wait a 3 or 4 years years before I got to see the rest!

Not being old enough to have seen the original broadcasts, this was something new to me. It had everything - it was bright, colourful, lively, featured nice cars, nice girls, exotic locations and of course had an unlikely, but brilliant combination of lead actors.

Thats why Overture sticks in my mind - I'd never seen anything like it, despite growing in the 80's with a whole plethora of more modern TV still fresh in my mind.

Welcome to Simply Moore, Cuffy!  :smt001

Overture was a memorable episode for me too, because it was the very first, and like with all first episodes of favourite shows, I must have watched it 100 times, lol.  :smt003 Can't say it was my favourite episode though because of so many others that followed, and since I never got to watch them on TV and started watching them for the first time after buying the DVD sets, we didn't have to wait long to see the entire series. Kind of spoilt the fun of waiting for each show brand new to air on television for the very first time, like people had to do in the old days.  :smt005

The only thing that bothered me about the plot was Judge Fulton's certainty that the two men would meet to have a fight at the bar and get arrested. And the fight scene was a little too comedic for someone who was too used to The Saint. Other than that, a good first episode, because unlike many other older series, a lot was explained in it, the pace and the situation were set up perfectly for the rest of the series. I missed that in the first episode of The Saint. :smt002
