"Provoked" is the true-life story of an Asian women who comes to live in England, and suffers 10 years of horrendous cruelty and abuse from her husband. She finally snaps and murders him, and is sentenced to 12 years in prison. The movie is about her fight for justice, and to have the original charge reduced to manslaughter. The movie was first shown at the Cannes Film Festival earlier, and is due for general release at the end of the year.
Deborah plays "Jackie" a fellow prison inmate. It will be good to see her on-screen again, she's a very fine actress. I wonder if it's been a help or a hindrance having such a famous father?
