Acting veteran SIR ROGER MOORE has issued a plea for a "caring" buyer to come forward and save London's world famous Elstree Film Studios.
The famous studios - where STAR WARS and the INDIANA JONES trilogy were shot - have been put up for sale by Hertsmere Borough Council, and a large cash injection is required to return Elstree to its former glory.
Former JAMES BOND Moore - who filmed 118 episodes of his iconic TV series THE SAINT at Elstree - says, "Hertsmere Council extended it a lifeline when it needed it most, and invested heavily.
"Now that they are seeking to pass on the ownership, I hope that an equally passionate and caring owner can be found, and help take the studio into one of the most exciting periods of film and new media production."
"Ways of the ungodly are usually predictable," Simon Templar (aka. The Saint)

I do hope  the new owners of the studios  can carry on the traditions of its original use. Apparantly, part of the complex has already been turned into a supermarket, which is a great shame. Anyone know if this is true?

I read too that the British version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" is actually filmed in the same studio used for "The Saint."

It would be great if Roger is successful in his plea for Elstree studios. Good luck to him!
