Roger's Christmas Song

Postby Amber on Wed Dec 05, 2007 2:58 pm

Did you know that way back in 1959, Roger joined other Warner Brothers tv stars to make an LP of Christmas songs?

Roger didn't exactly sing, but he spoke the words very movingly of "Once In Royal David's City."

Roger is second left, right next to Dorothy Provine, who was also starring with him in "The Alaskans."

The LP comes up for sale now and again on e-bay, and it's well worth collecting.

Interesting amber. I didnt know he made recordings. Before the picture developed, I thought he was the guy in the santa suit. lol but now I can see its obvious he is standing second left in his Alaskans parka.

Hi Kendall,
The guy in the Santa suit is Ed Byrnes, who played "Cookie" in the tv show "77 Sunset Strip."

As  for thinking he was Roger, well once in a tv interview, Roger was speaking about his days at Warner Brothers, and he said that all the male tv stars "looked the same." Ok maybe they did, but Roger always had that certain something that the others didn't have.

That's not the only record Roger made. In the 1960's he recorded "Where Does Love Go." He and Luisa, wrote the "B" side - "Tomorrow After Tomorrow." This told of how their love would live on and on, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Just like the Warner Brothers "song" Roger didn't sing, but recited the words.

Again in the 60's Roger recorded the story of the childrens tale of "Aladdin."
