Hi Solitaire,
I forgot about the original plan to have a 30 minute episode instead of a regular one hour show. I remember reading about it somewhere, maybe in Roger's biography or some article...don't recall where

Anywho, it got me wondering how they would have managed to squeeze a meaningful story into 30 minutes. I'm so glad they decided to go with one hour. I agree, hope Roger had a chance to re-negotiate his contract, though at that time they had no idea how popular the show would become. It is amazing!
The Talented Husband is one of my favorite episodes, because it gave the show a strong start. It was also dramatic and right away gave the audience an idea of what the show was going to be like and what the main character would be like. Shirley Eaton was a good choice for the Saint's first lady friend. The whole story was excellent, the bad guy's idea of dressing up as a woman, his weird motive for killing his wives and going forward with his attempt to kill his present wife despite developing feelings toward her. The man was obviously sick in the head, which made it that much more intriquing. Thanks for the pics, Amber! I'm gonna have to watch this one again.
