Watch Roger video clips!

The first  is from an interview dated 1963, when Roger talks about his career, and lasts for almost 4 minutes.

The second  is from the same interview but contains a very funny "blooper." This clip lasts for almost 1 minute.

Please note: You need to have Java to watch them

Here's Roger with entertainer Millicent Martin, taken in the mid 60's. At that time there was a weekly show on British tv called "Sunday Night At The London Palladium" broadcast live from the famous theatre. Roger was a guest presenter and Millicent did a comedy routine on stage with him.  He and Millicent had worked together earlier when they were both models.

Roger also guested on her own weekly tv show once. He did a few comedy sketches and sang a duet with her "Side By Side." Youtube have a great clip from that show, dated 1964. Altogether it lasts for around 7 minutes, and is a very funny James Bond spoof. Well worth taking a look. Enjoy!

Does anyone know how you can save these clips on your computer?

Thank you.

On that clip too, Millicent  and Roger are at one point walking down some steps. Millicent loses her footing and crashes to the floor, bumping into a chair. I'm sure that wasn't supposed to happen! Ever the professionals though, Roger calmly helps her to her feet, and they both carry on as if nothing happened.

I don't know if it's possible to save clips from Youtube. :smt017

Great clips Amber, including the first ones too!

No wonder Millicent Martin fell over on those steps. The contents of a few glasses of drinks were emptied right there, as well as  a soda syphon being squirted on the floor. An accident just waiting to happen, kudos to Roger and Millicent  for not letting it distract them.

I loved Roger's action sequences too in the clip - very funny!

I don't think You Tube allows it.  :smt005 But these are very rare clips indeed. Thanks, Amber.  :smt003

Watch Roger Youtube Clips

Postby Amber on Mon Aug 25, 2008 2:56 pm

Latest News on Youtube clips of Roger. The first two I posted on Youtube (info at the top of this page) are still ok, but the one that Roger did with Millicent Martin of the James Bond spoof in the 1960's has been removed for some reason. :smt017 That's a shame, but who knows it might just turn up again.

I just found a great clip of Roger dating back to 1964. At that time in the UK, there was a pop music newspaper called "The New Musical Express" and once a year they had a readers poll. The winners were invited to take part in a concert in London which was televised. The organisers always had somebody famous to present the awards. I actually saw this show on tv, and got a big suprise to see Roger walk on stage! :smt007 I was thrilled to bits to find a clip of this tv appearance on Youtube. It only lasts for just over 6 minutes. Among the artists Roger presented an award to were The Beatles. Nice to see Roger looking so very natural and charming as ever.

Enjoy!

Thanks Amber for the link to the clip of Roger on Youtube from the pop music awards show.

The young audience certainly gave him a very enthusiastic welcome. The presenter said that Roger had been there the previous year too, handing out awards. Did you see that show too?

Kudos for finding it. :smt003

I love The Beatles. Millicent Martin looks familiar. I am sure I've seen her somewhere before. :smt017

You can save the Youtube clips to your favourites and then from there put them wherever you choose (on your computer). Not sure if it's legal or not, but if it's not, how come it says 'download video' in some cases. I have done it many times and then transferred them to my memory stick or whatever you call it, so you can watch it whenever you like. :smt001 Hope this helps. :smt006

It's illegal if you make a bunch of copies and distribute them. Otherwise, if it's for your own personal use, why worry about that? Image

Have you tried right clicking on the screen and then "save target as"? You may be able to save a video to your hard drive that way.

I understand it's easy to save stuff if you have realplayer. Thanks Goodnight007.2 and nelly_smith for your very helpful comments, and I agree with all that you say about downloading from Youtube.

Hi Connie, no I didn't see Roger present the awards on the previous year, unfortunately.

Hi kendall, Millicent Martin moved to the USA some time ago, and since then has appeared in many American tv shows. She did quite a few "Frasiers" I know. She has a good singing voice, and a very bubbly personality. I saw her in a London theatre many moons ago in the show "Side By Side By Sondheim."

Amber, did you mean Milicent Martin made appearances on "Fraiser" with Kelsey Grammer as Frasier Crane? If we are talking of the same show, which character did she play? Thanks for the info. :smt001

Hi Kendall,

Millicent Martin was Gertrude Moon in 18 episodes of "Frasier."
