"The Fiction Makers"

Your thoughts on this episode of The Saint - "The Fiction Makers"?  :smt017 Its flaws and attributes?

I haven't been able to locate the book "The Saint and The Fiction Makers", the library had a hard time finding it to order.
But I thought the episode was good, except one part bothered me. Why would a man as smart as The Saint go into so much truthful detail to the older couple in the remote country home, about the reasons why he and the girl were covered in dirt, what the (&^% of her books were, what Warlock did to them and how Warlock came up with SWORD, etc. etc. etc... Woudn't it have been a lot easier to just say: "We are being chased by killers and need help to get to the police?" Instead, Simon and Ms Darling made themselves look like lunatics. No wonder the old couple thought they escaped from a loonie ward. What do you think?

The first half was amuzing and then I got bored during part 2. Anyone felt the same way? And I didnt like Sylvia Simms screaming and all those other gross noises she was making when they were running through the mud.  :smt075

Speaking of Sylvia Simms, I recently saw her in a newer movie called "What A Girl Wants" with Colin Firth and Amanda Bynes in the main roles, and wouldn't have recognized her if I didn't notice her name in the (&^%.

She was perfectly cast, IMHO, in "The Fiction Makers" as an eccentric writer, but I agree with you, her screaming was getting on The Saint's nerves, too. And when she said on the roof during their escape: "At this point I'd usually write in a helicopter.", I felt sorry not only for Simon, but for her readers as well. Yickes, her novels must have been very predictable!  :smt037
