Am I right in saying that this one was the very last "Saint" that Roger did? If it was, I feel it should have been more exciting, more memorable.

I was never very keen on the stories that revolved around car racing and such like. What do you think?

You sound just like my husband.  :smt002 Most men are supposed to enjoy car racing, right? Wrong, lol, he finds them the most boring sport of all. I can take them or leave them.

I agree with you, Connie, being the very last episode, "The World Beater" ended The Saint series in a  :smt102 sort of way.

Yes I agree, it kind of went out with a whimper!

Nice to see  Patricia Haines, Michael Caine's  first wife in this one.

I really like this episode, although I admit that it is a bit atypical of the series in many respects.

It really seems to capture the mood of the late 60s. Many aspects of the rally seem very true to life, especially the portrayal of how much a 'cottage industry' racing was back then. As a classic car/Saint fan, it makes for almost perfect viewing.

In fact, this episode may have had more of an impact on me than is perhaps healthy - I now own a TVR like the one that ST drove in the rally (the one they called a Sentinel in the show).

Hi KeepingThe BritishEndUp, and a big welcome to SimplyMoore.

Congratulations on having a car like the one featured in this episode. Have you ever driven it in similar rallies?

I read that "Portrait of Brenda" was the very last episode of "The Saint" and not "The World Beater" is that correct?
