This pic was from the very first episode "Freeing The Serfs." Ivanhoe came across a blacksmith called Gurth and his young son, who were being tortured by the Lord of the Manor. He set them free, and from then on they became his side-kicks. In a later episode Gurth's son went to live with the same monks who taught Ivanhoe when he was a young boy.
Roger was very fond of the beautiful white horse - "Shane" - that he rode in "Ivanhoe" and would regularly feed him carrots and apples. They were re-united years later in an episode of "The Saint" called "Teresa." The story called for Simon to escort the leading lady through rough countryside in South America. They needed to travel on horseback, and Roger was delighted to find that "Shane" was the horse he was to ride. |

Here's Roger in "The Saint" episode "Teresa" which saw him re-united with Shane, the horse he rode in "Ivanhoe."

Oh yes, I remember this episode. When I was watching it I said he looked like a knight on a white stallion. |

Here are captures taken from some "Ivanhoe" episodes I recently got. Roger and his sidekick Gurth (Robert Brown) were good friends in real life, and this comes across very well in the show. I get the impression that they both had a lot of fun doing it.
Gurth is standing right behind Ivanhoe in this pic below.

| I'm enjoying seeing these very much Amber. In some of them, Roger looks very much like his early days in "The Saint." Didn't he have glorously thick hair! |

Glad you like them Connie.
There are always lots of fight scenes in the show, and the action is so fast that it's very difficult to get clear pics, so here are some it was easy to get.
