I didn't know you got everything from him.  Thats great to know. Now I don't have to run around looking for different sources.

I will have to drop him a call when I'm ready for the upgrades.  I might start with one of the  150r's first. My wifes buggy is making some nasty noise and i think it's the belt so I will dig into that one first.

Thanks again, You've been a great help to me so far.

Now I have to start counting my pennies Confused

Sorry, I've been really busy and missed this post.
Give us a call. You don't have to dump a bunch of money into the crossfires. They're not too bad a kart and some simple mods will wake it right up.
John has done most all of them so he should be a wealth of info! By the way, Thanks for the plug John! Smile

first things first...  get the spring and I recommend sliders...  10grams are real popular, but I got 9's and I love them!!!  Get the 1500 lb spring at the same time, and you can do both mods together right away.  If cash is tight, then I would just go and get a uni filter, 1-1/2 inch pvc, a fernco-coupling, and a couple jets from Tom (124, 128, 130) and you are set with a sweet ridin buggy until you get a little bit more $ for the big stuff.

As per costs, I think the spring was less than 15 and the sliders were around 25 or a little bit more.  A uni usually costs 20ish area, and PVC tailpipe from a sink at lowes is only like 3 dollars.  the coupling is only 2 or less, and your jets are around 4-5 each...  I got an assortment because I didnt know how much fuel i would need after I gutted the exhaust.

Freebies if you have done so already:
DRILL out the the exhaust.  Take the fancy chrome shield off the end of the pipe and take the biggest, fattest drill bit you can find and dril a couple holes through the nose of that pipe...get it opened up.

little better fuel flow, make sure the filter is facing the right way, and take a small drill bit just one size bigger than the petcock now, and bore it out a little bit for better flow....  tire pressure should be kept between 6 and 10 lbs...  I think 6 is soft, but a lot of guys like it there.  Other than that, everything is gonna cost after those couple things...

My last mod before I got bigger motor is a pipe...  Other than that, if I can help ya, let me know!!

I got 3 running well but I am still stuck on mine.  It still won't hold up when you try to accellerate and it stalls when you let it idle about 4 or 5min.  Because of all the gremlins I think I will do the mods to this one first.
I gave my son my starter relay because his broke. I am using his and I just hardwired it to a starter switch.

I let you know when I start buying parts.

I tried calling him this afternoon but they didn't return my call, I guess they must have been tied up in the shop.

I got my buggy running but I had to use a carb off another buggy, No matter what I did to my carb it just wouldn't work.  So my first upgrades might be

New Carb
Filter
CDI and coil
Spring
Rollers
Gutted exhaust

Does this sound ok.  It's gonna hurt the wallet a bit but I think I can live with it.

Sorry about the missed call. We are doing a trade show at Ripkin stadium this weekend and are not in the shop but I did have my phone on me. We will be back in the shop on Monday and have a BUNCH of parts coming in at the beginning of the week so don't hesitate to call!
