Spring is quickly approaching and there is some talk again of a racing league. If anyone is REALLY interested is running a racing league, I have the means but not the time. We have an opportunity to get a racing league going in VA and have it attached to a national road racing league!!!!!
We're talking BIG TIME here and will not be for the feint of heart! Once you get into this, it will eat up ALL your time and is a big responsibility BUT if anyone out there has the "Hoopspa" to partner with us, I'll get you started!
We want to start this thing by the end of February so if anyone's game...........

I made a forum for buggy racing a while back but no one showed interest so I closed it down. But count me in! I will do what I can until I can drive and then I can do more.

So count me in

I would really like to get involved and I know my son would love it but the cost would be to much for me.   I guess I'll have to keep dreaming for now.  I't would be  nice if I could get my company to sponser something like this.

But I'll make sure we get to see as many of the races as possable.

There should be no cost involved in anyone helping out. As a matter of fact, those who are with us at the beginning will probably not have to pay anything  to join and race too! I imagine there will be "Gas" involved and of course your time but we're not asking anyone to invest $$. We're looking for officers and have some positions to fill. There will only be "Pats on the back" to start for salary but this will be a paying job once it's in place!
We're working on leagues in GA, VA, MD and PA and the hardest part is getting started. I'm working on rules and regulations, classes, allowable upgrades and what class any would put you in, age groups, engine sizes allowed, Racing formats etc.
We found that lots of people want to race, they just don't want to put any work into it so we'll put a race league in place, we'll race each other, then they will come! Smile

That makes a world of difference.  Call me so we can talk about the details. I am extremely interested.   Gas, food, and some hotel stays I can handle.  My only other problem is getting the buggies to where they have to be which I should be able to resolve with my tax check,  The only other problem would be making time to make all events.  Right now I have to keep my 5 day work week so only Sat & Sun are available.

I will PM you my numbers  so you can call me when you have time.

Hey Snapper, maybe you could get that forum going again in the near future.
We can make a section either here (I think NEBA would be a perfect place) or on KidNme, for people to get their info on who to contact for joining,  the rules and announcements etc.
Right now, we need to elect officers and it most likely will be volunteer based so if anyone has any expertise or time to spend, let us know and we'll find a job that suits you! Smile
In order to have this work right, we'll need a few minds coming together.
I'm making a list of volunteers and what they can offer and once we have enough people, we'll set up the job board and get everyone started on their prespective duties! Smile
We'll have a bank account set up as well but won't do that until we have all the officers in place.
Here's my thinking......

We need a president (Me for now but we will elect someone at the start of the season)

We need a vice president to help the president and take over if needed

We need a treasurer (Me for now)

We need a race coordinator and secretary to take minutes and applications for memberships etc.

We need a forum admin to keep the racing site current (May also be the race coord.)

We need sales people to promote this league and secure race tracks all across the east coast.

Each area needs to have boundries, ie: west side, east side, mid-Atlantic whatever so we can start several leagues at once. we don't want more than 2 hrs of driving or so, to get to your perspective tracks.

We absolutely need to keep these rules, regs, etc. private until we're sanctioned.
We'll need a "Private" forum to discuss all this that others can't see! We have tried this once before a couple years ago and we got robbed! Lets PM until we get a forum..

Tom we already have the new forum and website up.  I will be working on the forum security this weekend.   I have asked some of our guys to help out so things should move a little faster now.

I set up Racemybuick, Offroadkarter, Acblind with full access to the boards.  When everything is complete we will redirect this url and I will also register another URL to for the NEBA home page.

If someone wants to set up a web site, that would be cool.
I will feed you info for it as I get it done. I am working on all the race rules, buggy specs and requirements now. After a few days off here for Xmas, I'll finish it and get it out to whoever.
Merry Christmas everyone!  Smile
