So...  I had a stock carb, 128 Jet in my 150.  I wanted a little more throttle response, and I am soon pursuing the cam option, so I felt that more fuel and air would be necessary.  I got in touch with a Kidinme karts is the official Kidinme karts is the official dealer for the NORTH EAST GANG! for the NORTH EAST GANG! of performance parts, Glade, and he hooked me up with a 32 mm cv carb, which looks almost identical to the stock carb, only bigger bore, and it was sooooo easy to install.  I was told it was specifically designed for the 150 gy6 engine, however, jetting makes it compatible with many other size motors.  It too has the 128 jet in it, and if all goes according to plan, I will be adding a cam to the mods list, and most likely a 135 jet or higher!

Any questions about install?  Please feel free to email me or PM me...  I have the stock carb off to the side for now...  If the 32 ends up being a hassle, which I cant fathom why, then I will be switching back, but just a bit of advice I got, NEVER throw away a part that isnt broken...  If you are just upgrading, you may want to hold onto those spare parts JUST in case...

here are a couple pics!!

I am not a expert but if you have a new cam with bigger lobes wouldn't they hold the valves open longer thus being able to put more fuel in the cylinder?

The great thing about the Dune 150:  It is exactly the same as the Crossfires and the Punishers!!!  All my mods are exactly what you can do, in the exact same way, or better!

As per jetting with cam, you are almost obligated to re-jet after a cam install.  Just like Snapper stated, with a hotter bumpstick (cam), the lobes are larger, increasing the duration that each valve remains open, as well as how far they open.  Since the intake valve is taking a bigger gulp of air, it will require more fuel, and since you are getting both more fuel and air, you need good exhaust.

I havent been able to test out the cam install just yet...  I have some issues with the clutch pulley assembly, but as soon as I receive the parts, then I can give it a good run and see how it performs.  I switched from the 128 jet to a 137.5, and there was a dramatic increase in performance...  I was running waaaaay lean on the 128 with the bigger carb...  Now that I put a cam in, I think Ill be hunting for a 140 or 144 jet if they make it!!  lol...  If not, I need a drill!  Either way, the big carb, the big jet, and now a big cam....

FORGET DONUTS!!!!!  Im gonna be doing burnouts on pavementt!!!

Thanks for the compliments kruse!

John Very Happy
