I was just curious as to what your opinions are on the genre. For me it is one of my least favorite genres in an overall sense however I do think that there are some decent bands that are categorized or could be categorized as Nu-Metal even though overall it can be a boring genre at least in my opinion. Unlike a lot of people or those I've come across I don't it I just think there are better things out there. But I don't mind it from time to time.

Bands that I actually think are pretty decent and don’t really mind:
Evanescence (Even though they are debated as various genres believe they fall more under Nu-Metal)
Mudvayne (I’ve actually heard people call them Math Metal but they seem to be more Nu-Metalish to me.)
Exilia
SOiL
Sevendust
Otep

Otep is actually pretty alright. I enjoyed some songs like Warhead, but I can't remember a lot of titles... hmmm...

Apart from that, I really dislike nu metal. It seems an abomination of sorts. The sound is just not for me.

Otep is pretty good. I guess what bothers me the most about Nu-Metal is that there are things out there that people may also enjoy but it doesn't get the exposure it should or could. Also Mushroomhead is another good band. Alot better then Slipknot in my opinion. Though their latest album was an improvement over their previous ones.

My opinion is...ahh, I love it very much! Currently I've been listening to Disturbed's newest album, Indestructable, and I seriously can't stop listening to it. My favourite album also happens to be a nu-metal album: Korn's untitled. Plus I have many other nu-metal albums like a few SOAD albums, RATM, Mudvayne, etc. Great stuff, if you ask me.

Don't worry though - I'm fervently anti-Slipknot. ick Twisted Evil

Unlike most metalheads, I love nu-metal very much. Therein, nu-metal is definitely one of my favourite metal genres (I, unlike these boards, and many others, think nu-metal is metal). Ahhh...man. Good good.

Most mallcore is generic, drop-C riffing and rapping vocals, and most do a bad job of it.  There are, however, a few bearable bands and one great one amid the mess.  Disturbed can be decent, and sometimes downright funny (see the rant in "Down With the Sickness").

The only great mallcore band, though, is the one with the most debatable genre: SYSTEM OF A DOWN.  They are highly original, unpredictable, and thoughtful music-wise, and the lyrics/singing is fun to listen to.  I can't get enough of "Chop Suey!"

Now excuse me while I make an SOAD thread.

Disturbed only has one good song if you ask me and that's Voices. Everything else is boring.

I'm surprised at just how many bands listed here I actually enjoy.

Mudvayne has some really interesting and complex stuff at times.

Sevendust are ridiculously talented.  It's a shame they don't try very hard.

And I've liked almost everything from Disturbed since they came out.  They're a fun adrenaline rush.

So...like everything else, nu-metal has some good, and some craptastic stuff, too.

It used to be my favourite subgenre of rock (note, NOT metal), but now it sounds pretty boring for me. Except for some Kittie's songs.
