Judas Priest is one of the earliest and most influential heavy metal bands in history. Throughout their forty years of existence, they have changed their style numerous times, from their roots in Rocka Rolla to their heavy metal Stained Class era to the glam of Turbo. They have undoubtedly made some mistakes along the way (case in point: Point of Entry), but that doesn't change the fact that they have created some excellent metal in songs such as Exciter, Sinner, and Beyond the Realms of Death, and that they boast one of the strongest singers in heavy metal.
So, what are your opinions on Judas Priest, their evolution, and their influence? Do you think Ram it Down and Turbo are sellout albums, or do you enjoy them? And so on...

I'm kinda new to Priest, so I really don't know what album of thier's to check out first. Rob's high pitched vocals trumed me off to them for years, but now I like them. Think you know what one I should listen to first? _________________ When night falls, she cloaks the world

I might be a little biased here, but try Sin After Sin. My personal favorite Priest album, for good reason. The opener, Sinner, is awesome, with a cool chorus and three flawless solos. Last Rose of Summer is one of their best ballads (I only like Beyond the Realms of Death better, if you consider that a ballad), and Dissident Aggressor is just brutal for '77 (Slayer covered it, and if that isn't a testament to heaviness, I don't know what is).
Also try Stained Class and Sad Wings of Destiny. The best songs off the former are Exciter and the aforementioned Beyond the Realms of Death, and on the latter there's Victim of Changes and the wicked Ripper. Sad Wings of Destiny may take a bit longer to get into, but it's worth it. Both these albums are great end-to-end. _________________ Everything here is so cold

I've only heard Painkiller.
Its very fast for heavy metal.
Though, it can get boring for me after a couple songs. _________________ The ravening black worms of madness are devouring the shredded remnants of sanity as I return to my slumbering steel-clad body...but as the dream-veil lifts, I feel my limbs transform, flesh becoming cold stone...

Painkiller is so fuckin' good. Almost perfect, but I didn't really like the last couple songs. Regardless, I think my MA review for it works fine in describing my thoughts. _________________ NU-MOD

Unleashed in the East. That's a sexy live album. I enjoy live versions of songs on that album mostly more than I enjoyed studio versions! _________________ I just want to eat your brains.
